Title: Re: Frampton Cotterill & District - SYMES
Post by: lyraea on Wednesday 13 September 06 04:06 BST (UK)
Hi Jen

I know this is a year down the track but any mention in the book of Symes.  If so it would be Elizabeth.

Thanks

Hi Lyraea

No problem, I do pop in now and again.

There are inventories for Harry Symes, Esquire & his widow Ann Symes of Fram Cot - 19 Jan 1686/7

It's 2 & a half pages, with quite a few rooms so they were prolly reasonably off.

total  £81 12s 7d.

My favourite bit after scanning through is "One paire of Sad Coloured Curtains with a Counterpaine 15s" &
"Three little old Sadd Colored Chaires 4s 0d"

hope this helps, pm me if you like xx Jen

Hi Jen

This is going to seem a bit silly but how do I do a PM.  I know what it mean but have never done one before.

Anyway the ealiest Symes I have is John Symes (b abt 1794) and wife Mary?   Their son William married Anna Westacott - they are all from Devon.    Their daughter Fanny was born in Frampton Cotterell in 1847.   It is possible they moved there because they had relations there but I haven't got nearly enough people in this family yet, ie siblings to know one way or the other.   I will certainly keep a note of these people for when I find out more about them.

Thanks for your reply.

hiya.

I think for a pm you should click on the person's name but I hardly ever come on here so I'm not exactly sure.

Anyway, it's fine for you to post on this thread again if and when you would like more info - not that there are any more names mentioned!  BUt if they ARE yours maybe we could work something out to give you the whole inventory.

Good luck with your research - I have let mine get in a mess and need to do some serious filing!

Post on here any time but be aware I'm not on too much.

xx Jen
