Title: Irish Mariners
Post by: Sordibub on Tuesday 26 August 08 10:59 BST (UK)
For anyone researching Irish Mariners, please check out the following exciting new website...
http://www.irishmariners.ie/index.php
It covers the years 1918-1921 in a comprehensive manner.
It is definitely the most useful mariner site i have found anywhere on the net.

What a good site! Thanks.
Unfortunately my relative was killed in 1918 and is not there but I have found someone else from the same area who we are interested in. Am going to pass it on to my cousin.
Thanks so much

What is really sad, is that the person I found, returned to his home after service and was killed 1927 in a fishing tragedy during the great October storm. He had gone through WW1 and later and then died on his own home territory.

This site does indeed look very good!
Unfortunately my sea faring great grandfather died in 1886.
Does anyone know of a similar site with earlier information?
