Hi
I would like to have details of the family of Beatrice Lilian KILMISTER born in Sep 1891 in Brighton, Sussex. I'm hoping that they are in the 1901 Census.
Regards
Robin

Not doing well in 1901. In 1891 there is a Charles Kilminster with wife Pamela and ten children. He is a boot & shoe manufacturer. Any connection?
Andrea
-
Hi Sillgen
Thanks for looking for her. That's the problem. I only have her details. It's pity that the Census doesn't include the Wife's pregancy because then we would know!
Thanks for your time and trouble. I'll have to try another tack on this.
Regards
Robin

His children earlier are registered as Kilmister so it is probably the right family. Still cannot find any of them in 1901.

Hi Sillgen and Hepburn
Thank you both very much for helping me. I'm sure that Hepburn has found the correct one because of the Africa connection. Beatrice ended up in South Africa. Does the 1901 provide the places of birth of the family? What does the Africa Support mean?
Thanks again to both of you.

There is a death in Brighton in 1894 for Thomas Kilmister aged 74. I wonder if he left a will? They do appear to be quite an affluent family so it is highly likely. Isabella's will be interesting too. Maiden aunts often mention lots of people.

The marriage for Charles Kilmister and Pamela Gates is on www.familysearch.org 8 Jul 1866 in Littlehampton
There is also a record of someone researching the Brighton Family under the pedigree resources bit. May be worth contacting them if you can see a link. Marjorie Ruth Kilmister born 1897.
The Bridle family are on the IGI too - children of Henry and Hannah.

Jessie Kilmister is my great, great grandmother... Unfortunately I don't have a huge amount more to offer- I do have a basic Kilmister family tree. I also recognise that this post was from 2008! DF

Hi Danielle
Thanks for resurrecting the Kilmister correspondence. Is the family tree on paper or in digital form? I would love to see a copy.

Hi Robin,
I'm Kirsten Flower (sister to Danielle). I'm sure we have a family tree but it's currently stored with other documents. I am able to confirm that Jessie Kathleen Kilmister had 12 siblings. She married Harry Hole and they had 6 children (including a son also named Harry). Jessie's family migrated to South Africa whilst she stayed in Sussex. One of their sons was named Jack Hole who married Nellie Amelia Redford. They then gave birth to Jacqueline Hole, who married Martin Boyce. They had a daughter named Louise who married Roy Flower and they gave birth to 6 daughters (me and Danielle included!). We are currently living in Sussex and our Nan would be able to emphasise on anything you would need to know! She also has photos including the Kilmister family which could potentially include Beatrice. Sorry for the whole family history, I thought it would be good to verify!
-
Hi Kirsten
Thanks so much for all the very useful information. I would be very pleased if you are able to provide full names and dates and places of birth, marriage and death for the family members that you have mentioned. Thank you for contacting me.

Between 1898 and 1908, she gave birth to 6 children, 3 boys and 3 girls. Thomas, Patience, Harry jr, Jack were all born in Cuckfield. Kathleen was born in Albourne. Dorothy Rhoda in Bramber.
There are corresponding deaths of Bridle, Gates, Kilmister and Sayers. Whom are the parents and grandparents of Jessie.
My nan has said she has the family tree of other side of the family (including the Bridles and Sayers), Jessies family has the Kilmister family tree. I now have photos of our family trees, including ones that go further back past Charles Kilmister and now have pictures of the family.

Hi Kirsten
Thank you so much for all the interesting information. I have updated my database accordingly. I would like to add the details of the Hole, Flower and Boyce families at some stage when you are not too busy.

Hi,
No problem, I'll get right on to sorting it! May I ask, what relation are you to the Kilmisters?
-
Hi Kirsten
I am not directly related. My niece Samantha Powell (spouse Barker) is married into the lineage of Charles Edwin Kilmister, then Beatrice Lilian Kilmister, then Gwen Lillian Glasspoole, then Colleen Louise Punch, then Russell Kenneth Barker.
Here is some data from the Stellawood Cemetery in Durban. I can't figure out who the Frederick Charles and Charles Frederick Kilmisters are.

Hello,
Oh right, so you are of very distant relation haha!
Well looking at the family tree, Harry Hole (husband to Jessie) had a brother and uncle named Frederick so it could be that Charles Frederick/ Frederick Charles are sons of their children perhaps. Jessie also had a brother called Charles C Kilmister who I've just seen, so it could be from there also. Charles Frederick is the brother to Elsie May Hole if that helps, I came across it. I will look into it, however we only have descendants from Jessie and not her siblings I'm afraid. However, I do have a whole Kilmister family photo before they migrated to South Africa so maybe Charles and Frederick would be on there if they were born before.
-
Is it okay to ask for your family tree details? We would like to know how we're related exactly! We have down to Gwen Lilian Glasspoole and its a bit rough from there. Would you be able to emphasise on your relation also?
Here is our family tree:
Children of Harry Hole and Jessie (Kilmister)

Hi Kirsten
Thanks very much for all the excellent data. I have been busy copying it into my database and verifying the dates and places where possible. I should be finished within the next couple of days and will send you the result. Hi,
This is all very interesting - I am new at the Family Tree thing!
I am the granddaughter of Madeleine Isobel (Isabelle correct spelling) Kilmister (Lorimer) - my grandmother's father was Victor Celian Kilmister and her mother was Ada May Armstrong.
Victor Celian Kilmister was the son of Charles Kilmister and Pamela Gates.
How are you related?
Kind regards
Christine
