Hi, thanks for your help its very interesting!! I still cant find Hugh Pill on the early census - maybe I'm just not looking properly!! ??? Thanks
-
Hi
Is Hugh the man in the 1871 census in the Kemp household in Penzance?
I will see if I can trace him in earlier censuses for you. As he was a coastguard (assuming I have the right man) he may have moved around quite a lot

Thank you so much - that is a lot of help :) - Am I right in thinking the 1841 is the first census? and is it a lot harder to go further back?
-
I would just like to say a big thanks to everyone that helped :) I managed to go back a lot further to 1654 (see my last topic) but I couldnt have done that without your help. So thanks again.

My ancestors also include Robert Pill (b 1685) son of John (b 1654).
You mention 3 sons in a post but I have Robert also.
Does this match your latest info ?
Five generations later I have Sarah (Sally) Pill married to William Borlase, whose son John migrated to Australia where his daughter Grace married William Lewis Mead and his daughter Sara Elizabeth married William Taylor and his daughter Grace was my mother.
I have about 300 Pill listed in my database if you would like to compare data - Graeme Dickason
