Title: Alexandra Hospital Cosham - Now Completed
Post by: Old Jack on Sunday 24 August 08 04:51 BST (UK)
Hello - I have a postcard during the great War showing the above Hospital.
My searching all seem to return a hospital called
Queen Alexandra Hospital.
Were they one and the same please.

Any information very greatfully received.

Thank you
Old Jack

Hello

The Queen Alexandra Hospital is on Portsdown Hill overlooking Cosham which is  an area of Portsmouth
I believe it was originally built in the early 1900,s as a military hospital. You can read more about it's history at
www.localhistories.org/qa.html
Nowadays it is one of the main hospitals serving the Portsmouth area .... I should know as I have been there a few times both as an outpatient and visitor !
