Power to the people! ;D These revised hours are the result of an opening hours consultation carried out by the Archives office, and it looks as though the Saturday morning opening will be very popular.
Don't forget, to save time you can always pre-order documents by giving 48 hours notice, either by telephone (01452 425295) or email (archives[at]gloucestershire.gov.uk)

Thanks a lot. Is this the place in Alvin Street, off Worcester Road?

Yes, that's the one, Eric ( Worcester Street, rather than Road). If you haven't been for a while, you will find that there is now a charge imposed for parking there. Not sure how much, as I walk there, but certainly cheaper than using city car parks.
For anyone who hasn't been there before, the office is easily accessible on foot from the train and bus stations.

Useful information. Monday has been my day of choice in the past.
Thanks again.

To park all day will cost £2. I'm glad they will be open on Saturday mornings, more time for rellie searching.

And Gloucestershire FHS resource centre is even closer to the train & bus stations. It sometimes has access to information that the RO doesn't have, and not just for Gloucestershire, either. The opening times are:
Mon-Thurs 10-4
1st & 3rd Sat of each month 10-1
See http://www.gfhs.org.uk/ResourceCentre.htm for more details and map.
