I wonder if there is a site where I can look up the names of British POWs. I am not sure if my Great Uncle was one when he died in Poland.

was he army or air force?
I don't believe there is a comprehensive online site for army POWs but there is a book called Prisoners of War: British Army 1939-45 Volume 1 (Published by Savannah ISBN 0 903754 61 4) that lists over 169,000 British (and Volume 3 covers Commonwealth POWs) held by the Germans. It is an expensive book (though I have been trying to get Santa to get it for me!) so maybe worth asking in the library.
