I too, am researching Turner from Shropshire. My GGrandfather Thomas Turner was born Jan 1862 in Westbury, Shropshire. His father was John Turner, his mother Elizabeth (Blaney)was born in Montgomeryshire. I have Thomas listed as a Carter on the 1881 census in Redlake. John died when Thomas was young and apparently his mother married again, to a John Griffiths in Shrewsbury.  Thomas christened me at the Ketley Bank Primitive Methodist Church, where he was a lay preacher.
Do you have any information on your tree?
Cheers
Andrea  :)

Turners of Westbury, Shropshire and Montgomeryshire.
Could have link to the Turners of Alberbury, Shropshire and Trewern, Montgomeryshire. Did quite well as Blacksmiths and a branch of family lived at Trewern Hall. If I remember correctly.

Alberbury,

I have a Turner line in my tree in Newtown, Montgomeryshire.

My GGG Grandmother, Mary Turner, married a Charles Hudson, and was the daughter of Peter Turner (taken from marriage certificate).

Peter is difficult to trace in the earlier census returns which makes me think he wasn't originally from Newtown.

Have you come across a Peter Turner in your research?

Hello Lloydy,
Sorry I am late responding.
Turner have seen by accident, through Census returns and Parish Registers, researching my own family.
Peter Turner, what other information do you have? The date of marriage etc.
Shropshire Archives have the Montgomeryshire Genealogical Society's, Memorial transcriptions for many Parishes.
