 - someone else here seems to have gotten the marriage certificate (look at second page), suggests parents were:
Martino Cortopassi and Adelaide Bartolomei

Hi Scottish Rose
Have you tried using the films available from www.familysearch.org
They do have films available for Lucca this is the link
http://www.familysearch.org/eng/library/fhlcatalog/supermainframeset.asp?display=titledetails&titleno=721177&disp=Registri+dello+stato+civile+di+Capannori%20%20&columns=*,0,0
then click on 'film notes' lets you see what films are available.
If you want to find the nearest Family History Centre to where you live this is the link :

http://www.familysearch.org/eng/default.asp
(scroll down the page and fill in your address etc)
If you want any more information about ordering the films etc will be glad to help you with the information.

(the birth and marriage acts etc are all in Italian)

Hello! I've just stumbled on this thread and I was wondering if anyone might be able to help.
I'm a student at the University of Edinburgh. I'm doing a research project on Italian language maintenance among the Scotsitalian community and on its role in shaping the identity of successive generations of Italian immigrants.
If you're a Scotsitalian (no matter whether you speak Italian or not) or have Italian ancestors (no matter how remote they may be) and think you could spare 5 minutes (honestly, it won't take more than that) to fill up a questionnaire I would be very grateful. My email address is (*)
Thanks a lot
Katia
