My g-g-grandfather, Patrick O'Connor, came to New York around 1850 or so. I can't find hime here on any census, or on any of the arriving ships. I do have a record of two cemetery plots he bought in NY in 1852 and 1864, so I know he was here! Is there any way I can see censuses from Ireland, or anything else that might help me trace him? I don't know what he did for a living, but in 1880, his son Joseph owned a livery in New York City and was pretty well off. Is it possible Patrick came over with money??

An online database on the Irish Genealogy website has records for 9 counties in Ireland https://www.irishgenealogy.ie/csi/csi_main.cfm
The page can sometimes take a while to load but I did see some Patrick O'Connor birth records listed between 1820 and 1835 mainly in Counties Sligo and Limerick and Co Sligo Tithe records for 1833/1834 also have Patrick O'Connor listed
You might like to try the Connors Genealogy website

which has a lot of information on Connors/O'Connor including a one name study

I have a Patrick O'Connor married to Kathleen Casey.
You can also look in Canada, PEI, Nova Scotia,New Brunswick as many Irish settled there, many left there & headed to the United States afterwards as well.
There are loads of O'Connors in Tignish, if you look on the LDS. Wallaby

My dad was an O'Connor from Sligo. What have you found out about your Patrick so far? (By the way - I am in New York too)
