Post by: Kristina on Thursday 07 August 08 01:14 BST (UK)
Hello everyone

I have 2 ancestors that died in the Belmont Institution, Belmont, West Derby during the 1950's

Can anyone tell me where they would have been buried please as I am not familiar with Cemeteries in this area.

Kindest regards

A bit of background - the Belmont Road Institution became Newsham General Hospital around 1950 http://www.mersey-gateway.org/server.php?show=ConNarrative.182&chapterId=759

Hi Kristina...I went to school at St Margarets next door to the Institute...I suppose a lot would have depended on "family" choice, but I would have said 95% certain it would have been Anfield cemetery....google yoliverpool , register for free, and go to district page...click on West Derby, and post your request...Someone from that area will be able to help I`m sure...good luck...ps I live 5 mile from Belmont rd..if I can help P.M. me....allan

Hi Kristina,

My father was Joseph Patrick Bolger born 1914, his mother Johanna, nee Delaney. We are a Liverpool family and so I guess there is some chance we are the same family as your Johanna. I have a copy of a painting of Johanna, and will post it up.

Many Regards

Janet Bolger

Hello Janet

Your father Joseph is the brother to my Grandfather, James Gerard Bolger.
So that would make you my 1st cousin 1x removed  :)
My mother Jean Patricia Bolger is the daughter of James G Bolger and Jane Smiith formerly Nixon. James died when my mother was only 2 years of age.
I have been trying to find her ancestors.
I have found her 3xGrandfather in Kilkenny. Stephen Bolger born 1809, Ballyogan, Graiguenamanagh, Kilkenny, Ireland
I am so pleased that you wrote to me.
