Is there anyone out there who'd be kind enough to check out the 1851 &/or 1861/1871 Census for signs of John BURTON (born 1790 Mayfield) and his wife Harriet BURTON (b 1799 Northwood, Staffs). They should be in the Ashbourne area as Harriet died there in 1872.
I'd be grateful for any details.
TIA

Do you think the place of birth looks like it could be 'Calwich'?
-
Hiya Aitch - could be !
Post the Census Refn number I gave in a new thread and ask others opinions ...
:)

Hi, Northwood Common is part of Calwich, just across the Derbyshire / Staffordshire border a couple of miles or so west of Ashbourne .

Thanks very much for that confirmation ;D
