Title: 1851 census, Sherborne - IRONSIDE

I'd be grateful  for any information on Sarah Ironside b1835 - and her parents John and Jane IRONSIDE on the 1851 census.

Hi Denise,

The only IRONSIDE on the census that covers Somerset, Gloucestershire,Wiltshire & Bristol in 1851 is James, a 21 yr old male.

oops- I have made a geographical error. Sherborne is in Dorset not Somerset (although very close) :-[

Don't worry about it, Denise.  I thought the same, but checked my atlas just to be on the safe side.

Guess what - there IS a Sherborne in Somerset, but its so small it was taking me a long time trying to work out which parish it was in!!!

Do you have a copy of the Ironside Dictionary compiled by Mike Kay?
