Edwin William Newman c1862 ( possibly 1862 Qtr 4 Chelsea MDX ? )
Married Ada Underwood - 29th September 1898 Fulham.
Marriage Certificate he was shown as 35, a Postman, she 38 both of 26 Irene Road ( assumed Fulham ? ).
I'm unable to find Edwin William & Ada Newman on the 1901 Census, due I assume to transcription errors ?.
The Edwin William ( a painter in East London ) found in the 1901 pre-liminary search is NOT my Edwin William.
Although this other Edwin William was also born in Chelsea, from other Censii information I know he was already married with children before my Edwin William Newman was married.
I believe I have the correct Death Certificate for my Edwin William Newman as :
Died 22 March 1934 age 71 - Pensioned Enquiry Officer GPO
died at 46 *useley ?? Road, Balham ( Certificate feint ) but his 'proper' residence was shown as 66 Lillieshall Road, Clapham.
Informant was :
A. E. Newman - son - of 66 Lillieshall Road, Clapham.
( The Certificate didn't show if Edwin William Newman was a Widower, so I don't know if Ada was still alive )
What I am asking for with this request, is hopefully Electoral Roll information for 1933 or previous years for this address which may help me determine who this son A. E. was and possibly evidence of more siblings or other leads ?
I realise that the request isn't for 'normal' information ( eg Census, BD&M, PRs etc ) but any help, even if it's the location of the Electoral Rolls, if they still exist, would be much appreciated.
Thanks in advance Mick

Why not email the local library nearest to their address and see if they hold back copies of the electoral rolls?
It will only give you the adults of course.

The archives section of the present-day London Borough of Hammersmith & Fulham lists electoral rolls among their holdings from 1885 to 1964. Contact them at archives@lbhf.gov.uk or you can visit them at 191 Talgarth Road W6 6BJ, (open Mon, Tues, Thurs and 2nd and 4th Sats).
To visit their web page go to www.lbhf.gov.uk then select "Leisure and Culture", next "Local History and Heritage" and then the link for "archives and local history" pages. Good luck

Again, thanks
A bit of a mistake in the borough I wanted !!
Put it down to approaching grey hairs or this damned heat.
For some reason I put the heading as Fulham, which is where Edwin William Newman was MARRIED !!!
I should have asked about CLAPHAM where the DEATH took place.
Apologies to all Mick ( a worn down cog in the Newman Name Society )

No probs Mick....a senior moment...yes I recognise that ;D
I would imagine that Lambeth Archives would hold the electoral rolls.
Their website is http://www.lambeth.gov.uk/Services/LeisureCulture/LocalHistory/Archives.htm

- if you search in the London Gazette for Edwin William Newman there's an entry for him in 1930 which references 66 Lillieshall Road.
