Could some-one help me with a look-up for the marriage of my GG Grandfather Richard Robert/s who was born in Ruthin about 1822, father's name Robert Robert/s.
He married Ruth Price also born about 1822 in Ruthin, parents Robert and Ellin Price, between the years 1840-1842.
Any help and information would be great. Many thanks.
Abbeygirl.

Hi
Cant find this on the North Wales BMD. :o Sorry.
-
I think this might be Ruth with her parents on the 1841, so they would have married after June 1841:
Efenechtyd, Denbs
HO107/1404 Bk 2 Folio 6 page 6
Robert Price, 48, ag Lab
Elin, 50
Ruth, 20
all born county.
It might be just slogging through the full GRO index
Don't see any matches Jun 1841 - Dec 1842 :(

Thank you all. I will keep trying. Perhaps South Wales would be a good idea.
Checked my information on this family again and have realised that they state that they are Society of Friends--Quakers. Would the marriage still be registered?
Again thank you.

Hi Abbey
If it was after Sept 1837, it would be registered and - I'm not sure will have to check - they are most likely to have married in an established church ceremony before that time. (see next message for correction)
It looks as if Richard moved around with his trade, so they could have married in various places

Hi
They might be in the Quaker registers:
n England & Wales between 1754 and 1837, Quakers and Jews were the only groups allowed to solemnise legally valid marriages outside the (Anglican) Parish Church. Unlike other nonconformists, therefore, the Quaker marriage registers continued throughout this period. Quaker marriages do not appear in Parish Registers

Hi Abbey, Gadget :)
I looked and couldn't see a marriage in Ruthin, Llanfwrog, Llanfair D C,
Llanrhydd, Llanbedr D C, Llanynys, Llanychan.
I looked at the Chapel Index for Ruthin none of them had marriages.
Your right Gadget they could have married anywhere :-\
Your South Wales sounds good to me ;)
I couldn't see a baptism for Ruth. I don't know if this is Richard.
