Could AKS do a 1901 Dublin Census lookup for my grandmother Catherine Mary O'Rourke born 8th July 1896 in Dublin. Any details of her and her family gratefully received (Father Peter and mother Annie ?)

1901 census isn't yet indexed and available online.
You can order microfilm of 1901 census from your local LDS library but you need to know where they lived.
1911 Dublin census is available on Nationald Archive site:

Understood I was hoping SKS might find time to do a physical lookup for me.

Dublin covers a very large area and as I mentioned 1901 isn't yet indexed. In 2009 it is supposed to be online (Canadian Archives) and eventually on National Archives site (Dublin).

You really need an address to do a physical look up in 1901 census.

Thank you for your answers. Seems I'm going to have to be patient as I have no area or address details other than that her father Peter O'Rourke worked at St James' Gate as a drayman and she spoke of playing in the warm water effluent from the brewery ! Not a lot to go on.

Hi,
You know that Catherine was born 8 July 1896, with that date could you not apply for her birth cert and that should give you the address were they live. Having found that you can begin searching the the 1901 census.

Seems her birth may have been 8th July 1894 - Good job I delayed. I think this is her in Dublin South at the LDS Pilot http://pilot.familysearch.org/recordsearch/start.html#birthYear=1894;birthPlace=Dublin%2C%20Ireland;givenName=catherine;surname=o%27rourke;p=recordResults;birthPlaceId=1928918;searchId=118159639906934300000;collectionId=1408347;searchType=standard
With no credit card or cheques to draw on an Irish bank has anyone actually just sent 10 euros for a birth certifiacte to Roscommon successfully ?

The birth certificate duly arrived but not with the mother's maiden name I was expecting! This and the 1901 census has given me
Story's Buildings Ushers Quay
Watling Street Ushers Quay
Vickers Street
as places she lived
