Title: Kieth Turton
Post by: Mosh on Thursday 17 July 08 20:18 BST (UK)
I think this will be a iongshot.

As a boy I used to play with Kieth Turton

His family emigrated to Australia in 1956-1960?

He previously lived at Stamper Crescent Skegby, near Sutton-in-Ashfield, Nottinghamshire.

Sorry that's all I can remember.

Best wishes

There are only 4 or so TURTON, K in each of the states NSW. Vic  and Qld.  Didn't look in the other states.

Not many letters to write or calls to make ;D

Hi Mosh,

Now just for your interest and to help you confirm or otherwise that this is your Keith, here are the possible births of the parents from freebmd .

Chisnall, Edna. Mother Topping. June 1/4 1921. vol 8c pg 336 Warrington
Turton, Jack Mother Burgess Sept 1/4 1920. vol 8c, pg 309. Warrington.

Now, I am not good at the Counties, but is Warrington close to Nottinghamshire where you knew Keith?

ADDING:  There is a birth for a Ronald Turton in Nottingham in 1918

Turton, Ronald. Mother Chambers. June 1/4 1918. Nottingham. 7b pg 501

And this is the best I can see for Cynthia

WildE Cynthia. Mother WildE Sept 1/4 1920 New Forest. 2b, 1438

It may sit with cando's 1961 finding.

I think Kieth Turton was born around 1946/1947

I am going to contact my sister tomorrow,to see if she can remember the names of his siblings.

Thanks for your help

Hi Mosh

I believe the Keith Turton you are looking for is my uncle.  He migrated with his family March 28 1961 and he was from Sutton-in-Ashfield :)  If you are still keen to catch up with him, please respond with your information and I will be stoked to pass it on to him.

Cheers
Jacquie
