Hi Is there any chance of removing the creases and a general tydy up of James please,
Thanks, Adrian
-
Hi Adrian
Here is James all clean and tidy
Irene

Nice one Irene ;) ;) ;)
I'm keeping off the cloning for a while, resting my arm which is almost back to normal
Mudge

Thanks Mudge
hope you are 100% soon, but don't rush it and do more damage. I am finding my eyes have to be rested more these days and now try to stay away from low resolution scans. Its great getting older ain't it ;)

Take care Mudge and Irene, the Board needs you.
I found this photo so interesting.
Along comes the photographer, hangs his backdrop on the wall, puts down a bit of matting and you have your photo taken just as though you are in a proper studio.
It's a little insight into what happened.
Used a little bit of artistic licence, took out the bottom of the backdrop and the wall.

:) Haven't been here for a while and how nice to see that Royal Artillery badge ;D
I have a 'sweetheart' badge here by the computer, which belonged to grandmother.
My grandfather was slightly too young (born 1903) for WW1
but I know he was in the army in the early 1920s and again in WW2 ...
they married in 1922, so don't know which war it was from.

I've had pains in my right arm, elbow and shoulder for months now, so have not
been adding to the restores on here ... it's beginning to hurt during the night as well ...
Would an arm rest be the solution ?
-
Hi Rachel
A cheap arm sling helps to rest it, as does avoiding the "clone" button. But most of all a nice 2 weeks holiday in the sun is the best medicine!!! Hope you soon get better. I thought I had a long term problem, but suddenly overnight it sorted itself out, so lets hope you are as lucky.
Look forward to seeing you back soon

Hi Rachel,
Have you seen a doctor? As it has been a couple of months now it might be best. I had a similar thing last year and it was a pinched nerve in the neck caused by tilting my head up to see the screen.
Physical therapy was needed to cure it.

Don't mean to be the voice of doom and gloom ;D

Thanks Irene and Mudge ;D
I was wondering about an arm sling, but thought I'd be brave an 'soldier on' ;D :-\
Have changed the position of the mouse mat ::) ::) feels more comfortable already .... doh !
Why didn't I think of that before :P I was reaching over to the right (right handed)
Rachel ;)

Hi Rachel,
I have quite a severe form of rheumatism in my wrists and fingers which was causing a lot of pain.
I bought a vertical mouse which helps a lot, but they are expensive.
Moira

Rachel .....have you got a mouse mat with a wrist support on it ... I use one and it stopped any problems I was having 2 years ago ! I got mine from peecee world... it has a sort of gel in the support bit ...
Poll ;)

Hi Polldoll,
I have a mouse mat with a wrist support on it and it helps to a certain extent. It is also important to have a good chair which you can be adjusted to suit the individual. Also remember to take a break at least every 2 hours.
Moira what is a vertical mouse? I've not heard of it does it stand on it's back legs ;)
Adrian
-
I was wondering that Adrian, glad you asked.
Thought probably you have to give it a swig of Vodka and it would stand on it's head..... ;)

As an orthopaedic nurse for many years, I was intrigued, so off I went....

Looks great for those of you with RA particularly.

Thanks for finding that Buddysmum
8)
It also explains what is happening.
Thank you.
-
Hi Moira and Poll
Thanks for the ideas ;D
My wrist and fingers are fine (so far ???)
OH bought me a wrist support thingie last year, but I couldn't get on with it .. may give it another go, although now I've moved the mouse mat my arm"s definitely not so uncomfortable ::) ::)
The only problem is that I keep hitting the keyboard with the mouse :o ;D :o
Rachel
PS ... when I started using the computer, I was getting cramp and all sorts of aches in my hand and wrist ... the mouse was too wide for me (a cordless one).
Problem solved ... I have OH's wired mouse from his laptop ... it's small and lightweight :D :D

Sound thinking moira ;D

I've just Googled "Vertical Mouse" and it seems to be a good idea, if you trust the writeup.
However as already stated they do not come cheap! The Jury is out!!
Mudge

;D Well the latest experiment is to use the wrist support thingie :o
+ two extra mouse mats ::) ;D :P
It's a Fellowes Geometrix gel wrist and mouse pad ....
The mouse pad doesn't give me enough room to manoeuvre, so I've stuck 2 ordinary mouse mats together (side by side) and put them on top of it.
This seemed like a good idea but now the mouse hits the keyboard with its head and the wrist rest with its bottom ;D
Rachel :)

;D :o New strategy and FABULOUS new invention :D
Step stool + some large, thick books on top + an unused kitchen cupboard door
Yaaaayyyyyyyyy ;D ;D ;D .... I can rest my elbow and forearm on this very comfortably and my mouse hand and wrist feel so relaxed
Rachel ;)
-
And they say we have forgotten how to improvise ;D
Well done Rachel 8)
-
;D Thank you Paula
I'm feeling so smug ::) .... AND it's got the step stool out of the kitchen ;D ;D ;D
