Title: CROMWELL - County Down
Post by: k3nnyc on Monday 14 July 08 16:03 BST (UK)
Hello,

I'm trying to find information on Cromwells in Ireland, specifically a family who moved to Northumberland from Ireland in the 1820's/1830's, details as follows:

Edward Cromwell - Born c. 1808
Jane Cromwell - Born c. 1808
William Cromwell - Born c. 1826
Edward Cromwell - Born c. 1827

The were living in Newcastle, Northumberland in the 1841 English census. Does anyone have these names in their tree?

Thanks,
Kenny

The Edward Cromwells above could also have been Edward David Cromwell or just David Cromwell or even Crumwell.

Are there any online resources listing people who moved to Scotland, ship lists etc? It's a long shot I know  :-\

No records were, or are, kept of people travelling between Ireland and England/Scotland/Wales as all were part of the U.K.

from Ros Davies website freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~rosdavies/SURNAMES/C/CrocCrot.
there might be a connection to the Kilkeel family.  I think I would be trying tombstones from Ulster for the time you are interested. Ros Davies is also good at listing what records are avaialbale at local churches.
Good luck, Jim
