Hi all,
Sometime ago there was someone on the list discussing the Wilson Family, and I'm hoping they may be able to help me.
I am looking for Henry Wilson's parents. I think they were Thomas Wilson and Elizabeth (possibly Jackson).
If anyone can give me details of any of these people on any of the 1841/51/61/71 census I would be most appreciative.
Thank you,
Pat.

Hi Ricky,
Thanks for prompt reply. This certainly looks like my fellow as he was a wheelwright in 1881. He also married a girl from Moulton.
Henry's brothers and sisters that I have found are Thomas b.1823, Maria b. 1826, William b. 1828 and Joseph b. 1833 all born in Fosdyke, Lincs.
Cheers,
Pat.

Hi Beady,
Thanks for prompt reply. This could certainly be the rest of the family. I don't quite know enough about them to be sure. A couple of the birth dates don't match what I know, but thats not unusual.
Cheers,
Pat.

Thomas Wilson son of William Wilson and Elizabeth Weatherhogg married Elizabeth Jackson 26 Nov 1818 at Fosdyke.
Their son Henry married Sarah Ann Healey Woods in 1856 in Spalding District.
Other siblings were
Eliza m John Butler
Thomas m Martha Downs
Marie m William Jeffrey
William
Nancy
Joseph married a Mary (have not found that one yet)
William who married Elizabeth Weatherhogg was son of George and Sarah nee Westmorland
George was son of John and Mary nee Chapman.
Thats as far as I have gone with with that Wilson line

Jacky Clark

Hi Jacky,
Thank you very much for info on the Wilson family. After you pointed me in the Fosdyke direction I found I already had the information but hadn't put two and two together. I shall have to do some research on the Jackson involvement as I also have Jacksons in another line.
Best wishes,
Pat.

Sorry to bring up such an old thread, but i have been doing a little research into my family history and believe these people may be ancestors, was the Henry Wilson mentioned here by chance the father of a John William Healey Wilson?
-
Henry Wilson and Sarah Ann Healey Woods had a son called John William b 1863 at Fosdyke
-
interesting... i have a family bible here that lists a john william healey, born 1862, not far out, he married a gertrude?
-
Just checked registrations born 1862 and also checked Census and BMD and he appears to have married Gertrude Mary Holland in Boston District. Children Frank, Walter, Mabel and Olive in 1901 - living in Algarkirk.
-
This appears to be them, I own a family bible that belonged to John William Healey Wilson, and has been passed down to the eldest son since (now reaching me), fascinating, been wanting to find out about this for a while and found a big chunk of the family all in one evening! Thankyou for your help so far :)

Hi everyone,
I would love to know if the bible mentioned gives a surname for the bride of John William Healey Wilson.
The marriage I have from The Lincolnshire Marriages.. registered in Boston 11 Apr 1887 is to Gertrude White Edens. This marriage also appears on Free BMD and free Reg.
The children I have for this marriage - Frank, John W., Mable Gertrude, Olive, Edna Jane, and Walter H.
According to my records J.W.H. Wilson was dead by the 1911 census. Gertrude was living in Fosdyke with some of her children and working as a school cleaner.
I would like to know what you all think. Is my information wrong? Was there two marriages, with both women named Gertrude?
Cheers,
Pat.

Hi Pat, i'm afraid it only lits her as Gertrude Wilson, it does give her birthday as 1st ofjune 1862 though. The date 11th of April 1887 is given as the marriage date in the bible. These are the children listed
Frank Wm (William possibly?) Wilson
John Hy Wilson (Died age 5)
Walter Healey Wilson
Ruth Eleanor Wilson (died at only3 months old)
Mable Gertrude Wilson
Olive Wilson
Edna Jane Wilson
After a quick search i have found online what would appear to be the death certificate of Walter H, who died in Canada in 1947, it lists his mother as Gertrude Eadens slightly different spelling, but all the other details on the page match up.

Hi again,
I think there must have only been one Gertrude as I have Walter being the last born in 1893 so there was obviously not a second wife. So Eadens/Edens appears to be the right one.
It was the mention of Gertrude Mary Holland that made me think I must have made a mistake.
Ruth must have died in between census as she doesn't appear on any of them.
My main interest is in the youngest of J.W.H Wilson's brothers William Henry Wilson b.1877 Fosdyke. He married Elizabeth Ann Royce. I would be very interested in anything you can tell me about this family?
Do you know if Walter Healey Wilson was the only one of the family to go to Canada?
Cheers,
Pat.

I'm afraid i have no knowledge of JWH's siblings as he is the eldest entry in the family bible. I'd love the names if possible? and no info on the canada link either as of yet. I'll be looking this up though and i'll get back as soon as i find anything :)
-
Please ignore my message about John William Healey Wilsons marriage... it was gobbledegook rubbish - he married Gertrude White Edens on 11 Apr 1887 at Fosdyke. Sorry about that.
-
Hi Jacky,
Thanks for that. You had me scratching my head for awhile.
Cheers,
Pat.

I am directly related to this family.
My mother is Marjorie Wilson of Holbeach, Lincs.
I can go back to my great, great, great grandfather Jeckel Wilson of Fosdyke.
Born around 1780 , married to Amy.
I would love to get in touch with any family

Did you have an uncle stanley by chance?
-
Yes - bit of a black sheep :)
His brothers and sisters: Olive, Millicent, Maurice (my Godfather), Marjorie (my Mum)
-
Haha, now I'm intrigued! Stanley was my grandfather, he passed before I was born so never had chance to meet him, and the other names you give are here in the family bible, hello relative!
-
Hello half cousin,
I met uncle Stan once in Peterborough - woodstone, I think.
My mother is still alive.
I live in Munich, Germany.
My name is Christopher Maurice King

Hi All, Walter was the only member to go to Canada. He left on the SS Vedic in 1921. His son, Walt is still alive!
