Title: Looking for casualty list of London Blitz
Post by: gormangenealogy on Saturday 12 July 08 19:55 BST (UK)
Hello, Can anyone assist with my request.

I am looking for any casualty list for the London area during the blitz.
The area i am intrested in is Mayway Street. A uncle of my father was living there at the time.
We belive he may have died in 1942.

Thanks

Noel,

are you sure about the spelling - I cannot find a Mayway Street in London. What area was it in. There is no comprehensive list of civilians except teh CWGC but it is possible to search for particular casualies if killed on a particular street by using

http://www.hut-six.co.uk/cgi-bin/search39-47.php

and typing the name of the street in the Including section. But no reurns on Mayway, nor in google maps etc

If you can give a certain location I can check in my 3 volumes of The Blitz to find possible dates of attacks

The street i am looking for is MILDMAY STREET, Islington, London.
Google maps show it just off St Pauls Road,

Can anyone comfirm if the street was hit during the blitz?

That was quick !

Many of the blitz deaths were recorded by the Commonwealth War Graves Commision.

Hello Annie,

Stanhope Street is in Camden, not that far away. It was the Dublin connection that caught my eye.
