Seeking information about the marriage of John Kerrigan and Ellen Hynes (Hinds), believed to be between 1853-1858. John was born 5 June 1830 in Andarra Parish, Westport. Ellen was born about 1836 in Westport, parish unknown. They were reported to have 10 children, names of 3 are unknown. Others are: James, 1858-Lechan; Margaret, abt 1861; Patrick, abt 1864; Myles, abt 1865; Thomas - 1865; John- 1870; Ellen- 1874. Ellen, John, Patrick and Margaret emigrated to Chicago, USA. Nothing is know of others nor of deaths, locations of parents. Ellen is shown in the 1901 Leitrim-Roscommon Census as living in Townland: Lackaun; Parish: Aghagower; Barony: Burrishoole; County: Mayo; Description: Household; Surname: Kerrigan; Head of household Given: Ellen (65); Occupation: Farmer/widow; Other Occupants: Thomas Hynes(58) brother/farm servant/not married; James (27) son/not married; Julia Burke (10) granddaughter/born in America. Are these families that anyone has information about and is willing to share??

I'm still seaching for the marriage of James Regan to Sarah (Sally) Kerrigan (or Karigan) from Mayo. Dunno the date though but they were in Preston with several kids in 1851.

If they got married in Ireland it is well before the start of civil registration of marriages so you will have to search for church records, if they exist.

Trouble is there are lots of churches in Mayo and I would have no idea where to start hunting. I just thought I would chuck in a wild card with the names in case someone had such inside info that had researched this root before
Needle in a haystack I think.
Cheers anyway.
