Hi Donna, I am interested in finding a Peter riddoch Wallace who married my grandfather (John Fleming) aunt Rose Ann Fleming in 1887 Glasgow. At present I know that they had 8 children Peter, Roseann ,Mary, James,Kate,Annie and Lizzie. I know that Roseann junior went on to marry Charles Burns 1917.
Are these conected to your Wallace research?
Regards Tracy

HI there: I don't think there is a connection. My immediate Wallace family moved to Bo'nessshortly after 1850. Agnes Wallace ( nee Stevenson) remained in Glasgow. I don't have a Peter Wallace but I have only researched the immediate family so maybe i just have not found one yet. Sorry.. Donna

Hi Donna,
I'm researching the Wallace family too - my grt-grt-grt grandfather James Wallace apparently married Agnes, don't know when yet but well before 1845. Their son Hugh married Annabella Bagnell in 1845; they had a son James in 1846 in Lanarkshire. Later had a daughter Mary (1848/9?) & came to Australia in 1849 where they had yet another daughter Helen. Would love to know whatever might link in with what I have as I'm having trouble going further back using the internet alone.
cheers,
Carleen

wow you are close in names to mine. Two of my James' sisters married and moved to Australia; mine stayed in Scotland and both he and his wife died in their forties. I am hoping to work on my Australian branch one of these days. I have a Henderson branch who went to Winnipeg Canada ( where I live) before moving to the USA, and another who went to Toronto where one of my children now lives. I have it in my mind one day to meet up with the Toronto one just for fun. good luck with your research.

i just wish there weren't quite so many Hugh Wallaces! Looking at your other posts I don't think your James & mine are the same person although there are certainly a few similarities. My James seems to have died prior to 1849 & his wife Agnes stayed in Galston when Hugh & his young family moved to Australia - got this from the passenger records plus the note that they had no relations in the "colony". cheers
