Hi I am trying to locate a death certificate for a Driver who died on 24 Jan 1942. He is listed on the Commonwealth War Graves and is buried in St Mary's at Sundridge. The name is Joseph George Sinclair White and he apparently died in an ambulance roll over in Horsham Sussex.
I can not find any mention of him in the free bdm's and wondered if there is somewhere else that the registration may be.
Any assistance would be greatfully received. He was 35 at time of death and married about 6 months

Hi Jody and welcome to Rootschat.
Free BMD does not yet cover the 1940s so you have to look at the full death indexes.
This looks like the death registration
Mar Q 1942
White Joseph G C 35 Horsham 2b 797

Thankyou Barbara for such a fast reply. The initial "C" should be an S but may have been miss transcribed. I have passed on the info to my father so hopefully it will be the right one. Thankyou again

Jody,
There seems to be no way I can reply to your PM so it may be best to contact me privately.
There is a "contact me" provision on my web page - http://www.geocities.com/phargy2001/index.html

You seem to be researching the same WALTON family as me. Your Frank Joseph WALTON was the brother of my Harold WALTON (b1911). Their father was Francis Joseph WALTON (1867-1913) who drowned in the Mersey after his boat the Beta was sunk. Their father was Isaac WALTON (1846-1906) who was captain of the Brilliant Star.
