Hi all,
I have a death certificate for Edward Adolpho. It reads.
Reg Dist. Marylebone. Sub Dist. Cavendish Square.
Found dead, Second September 1854,138 Oxford St.
Male, 34 years.
Porter.
Suicide by hanging. Mind unsound. Inquest.
When registered. 24th November 1854.
I have checked the Times online, and London gazette with no luck.
Any idea where I might find a copy of this coroner's report, as I would like to know, if any next of kin are mentioned.
Cissellby.

What about the LMA sometimes inquests are lodged in the record offices, I found one in Southwark in the LMA but when I wanted another in a different area I was told none had survived, it is worth asking
Just a thought

Would The Times online have a small para on the suicide?
Worth a look.

Hi LM,
I will email the LMA, to see if they have details of the inquest.
Hi Charlotte, I have tried the Times online, a few articles about his father, no mention of Edward.
Thanks, cissellby.

I'm led to believe that some coroners reports have found their way to Marylebone library in Marylebone Road

Hi
I have not looked for a record of an inquest held in London, but have had success with one in 1860s Berkshire.
I found a reasonably good account in the local paper.
The Central Library in Marylebone I'm sure will have their local paper on film, worth a try I'm sure if you are able to get there.
Good luck
