Can anyone help me with more information about John Bill and Elizabeth Meeson who married at St Mary Stafford on June 5 1797?
they had plenty of children baptised there,
Thomas Nov 26 1797,
John x2, 1801 and 21 March 1802,
Elizabeth Sept 5 1804
Jane x2, 1 May 1807 and my ancestress, June 7 1808. She was born at Linley Brook Shrops or unreadable Mon? ton/ ter, Shropshire, (Wife of Joseph Wilton, - actually Wilson- Marylebone 1871 census) and
Henry Sept 26 1814.
Any addresses, occupations or witnesses to help establish which Bill family John came from?
Thanks.
Jacqueline.

My many times gt grandfather is Richard Meeson, bap 11 Dec 1793 of Elizabeth Meeson.
I have often wondered if she married after having given birth to Richard, and had looked
to both the John Bill marriage in 1797 and the Thomas Stanley marriage in 1801 as possibilities.
Could you tell me a little more about your Elizabeth Meeson? I believe that mine was the daughter of Richard Meeson and Joice Smallwood.
Our family has kept Meeson as a middle name up to the present!
Looking forward to hearing from you

Hello Kevin, what a blast from the past! I* can't help you, I'm afraid. I have been obliged to discard Elizabeth Meeson from my family tree, as well as John Bill. I now know that my 4x gt grandmother, Jane Bill, born Linley Brook, baptised at Stockton by Bridgnorth, Norton, was the illegitimate daughter of Sarah Bill of Broseley. I do not know who Sarah's parents were, nor if they had a Stafford connection. Mine seem to be part of the industrial Severn Valley. Sarah later married Thomas Sheward. Good hunting, anyway.
