Title: South Aussie Graves
Post by: seven on Saturday 28 June 08 01:42 BST (UK)
Hi All,

can someone tell me how to look up South Australian cemeteries online,
if it is possible that is.
I see everyone posting burial details and would like to be able to look for myself.

Thanks
Julie

Hi Julie,
It is great that you are keen to do things for yourself. ;D
Look firstly at the top of this board called Australian resources then look under South Australian Resources and in there you will see a listing of SA cemeteries online.
There are  probably others too, but these may be good start.

Hi Julie

This is a great resource to have to see if any of yours buried somewhere in Australia. It is continually being updated and if you find any of yours in SA you may find someone has the headstone photo or will go seek it out.

click on South Australia and if you know the area it will help you big time

... also this web address (it will take you to the Goyder Council Cemetery webpage)

http://www.goyder.sa.gov.au/site/page.cfm?u=118

it has handy info such as cemetery maps, addresses etc ... further if you scroll down the page and type a South Australian Councils name (without changing the "statewide" status) you will be taken to that councils cemetery webpage. Note: alot of the rural councils do not have cemetery info digitised yet but have hard copy (paper) records and would probably respond to an email request ... hope this helps
