Does anyone know whether it was usual for cousins to marry in 1830's? Think i have direct cousins married but don't know if it would have happened.
Thanks Boxing Boy

Thanks Susan
Seems very common!

Quite legal in the UK, and still happens today. One of my wife's friends married her cousin.

Happens in Australia also, in 20th C and also now I'd think.

Very common in my 19th century families in England. In one case the child of cousins married the child of cousins :o They all lived in a very small community. Then some immigrated - probably a good idea. :)
