Title: William John Walton
Post by: manicmarcus on Thursday 19 June 08 17:08 BST (UK)
Hi

I'm looking for any info on the family history of William John Walton, who died on 3 Sept 1916 on the Somme. He had married Ellen Matthews, who later remarried a Charles Longhurst. I believe William's mother to be a Caroline Walton.

Specifically I would be interested to know if there are any war memorials in the Croydon area which may bear his name. He is buried at Beaumont Hamel Military Cemetery.

Any info would be greatfully received.
