Not bonkers. But without a bit more, it's 'needle in a haystack' time.
In Wales, it's pretty crucial to have the area and place of birth.

Do you have them on any Census at all? Are they resident in Wales? Any other info at all?

Possible 1861 - RG9 Piece 4044 Folio 77 Page 22 & 23, at Llantwit Fardre, Glamorgan
Let me know if you want it transcribed....
Very difficult with a name like Thomas, with no first names, or mothers name to know if the one you have is correct...do you have any more info on one of them at least?

Hello all, well thank you! I just can't seem to find the right combination of children and parents....
I am trying to verify info found on a family tree at A***, if its correct then at long last I have the parents of my ggrandmother! but I haven't had a reply from the ownerof the tree, I'm trying to make contact, but in case I don't get a reply I thought I should try and verify the information?
All I know for sure is that Sarah Thomas was born in 1859 and in later census (after marriage) she gives place of birth as Pontypridd (which doesnt help does it?)
so no I don't have any more info... :(
but I'll go and have a look at all of your replies, thanks for helping,

To continue info requested via pm. This would relate to birthdate given by contact
Births Sep 1859 Thomas Sarah Cardiff 11a 264
Check the link, Cardiff covered the district of Llantwit Vardre until 1863 when it was moved to Pontypridd.

There are two others in Cardiff reg within Sept 1859 - Dec 1859 but both are Sarah Ann Thomas only one Sarah Thomas

Death: Sarah Moses age 85 Sept Q 1945 Pontypridd 11a 360
Looks likely father Thomas, died in Ferndale mine disaster Nov. 1867, looks like some possible brothers as well, with names of those on link I sent you.
http://www.welshcoalmines.co.uk/deathrolls/Ferndale.htm
You could check freebmd, possible death cert would give address, maybe help with 1871/1881 census. Also first child is b Ferndale after they returned from US. Need to verify this connection, possibly her birth cert?
