The info is Age Born in
Patrick Connors ,RC 50 Agricultural Labourer County Caven

1911 census will eventually be online at National Archives, Dublin website and might help fill in some more details for you. In 1911 census returns married woman were asked how many years they were married and number of children/number of children living which is often very useful.
You can see the order in which Fermanagh is supposed to be added:

I look forward to it,Thanks again for your help .Tom.

Hi Tam, I'm not sure how common the name Connors is in Cavan but my great grandfather Michael Connors came from Cavan before coming over to Glasgow Scotland in 1875. I wonder if Patrick and Michael could be related? As far as I knew of the family history the rest of the family went over the America. My great grandfather's first child was called Patrick who was born in Ireland around 1873/1874. I don't know the townland that they came from and I'm going to try and research that.
Cheers
Pauline

Welcome to Rootschat, Georgianfan. Were any of Michael Connors' children born in Scotland? Scottish birth certificates list date and place of parents' marriage which would be helpful for tracing the family in Ireland.

Hi Georgianfan, (Pauline),Its good to hear from you .I was back in the UK for a holiday in 09,and spent a week in Ireland. That area of Ireland where Caven,Fermanagh, & Monaghan meet is centered by the town of Clones, in which is ,the RC Parish for the area. In the 1901 Census my family was registered as Connors, but in the 1911 Census the same family are registered as O`Connor, and lived in house 8 in Clonmacken, which is in Fermanagh, but only a couple of miles from Clones. My grandparents Patrick & Mary where married in the Parish Church in Clones,& the marrage was registered in Monaghan.
All The Best for now .Tam.

Hi, thanks for your help. My great grandfather Michael Connors and his wife Ann (maiden name Higgins) had one child in Ireland and had a further 6 children in Glasgow Scotland.
Patrick Connors (born in Ireland) (1873/74)
Mary-ann Connors - born Glasgow 1875
Michael Connors - born Glasgow 1877
Maggie Connors - born Glasgow 1880
Catherine Connors - born Glasgow 1883 - died 1883
Catherine Connors - born Glasgow 1884
Thomas Connors - born Glasgow 1886
On the birth certificates it puts Michael Connors and Ann Connors as coming from Stradone, County Cavan. I don't know Michael Connors sisters and brothers names as I had been told all except my great grandfather Michael Connors went to America (Maryland, Baltimore).

Hi Tam
Thanks for getting back to me, good to hear from you too. I think I remember my dad mentioning that our name had been O'Connor at one point going back too but had originally been Connors. I also remember him mentioning that the Connors were either farmers/labourers or gravediggers! My grandfather Thomas Connor dropped the "s". I'm going to keep researching you never know we might be distantly related :-) I will let you know if I find out anything new.
Cheers

Hi Pauline,Irish ancestors are a challenge the way they kept altering names,eg my Mothers given name was Roseann but most of the family ,cousins etc only knew her as Ena. My cousins who live in Glasgow have allways gone by the name Connor.and we have allways been O`Connor. If you would like to exchange e-mail address, mine is . (*). All The Best for now .Tom.
