Can someone possibly date this photograph for me.......
Writing on side door:-
Charles Taylor
36, Grant Road,
Croydon.
registration BY 4074.
This was given to me by a new found cousin, and has been in the family for as long as he can remember... Eventually hope to trace maybe a family contained therein....
thanks for your time

received some more information regarding this photograph......as follows.......every little helps....... :)
Croydon Local Studies Library
We have a small file about C. Taylor & Son whose registered office was at 35 Grant Road , Croydon. They also had offices at 119 High Street , Croydon and 140 Church Street , Croydon. They provided coaches for private hire for excursions and tours (like annual outings, picnics, race meetings) to places like Brighton, Windsor and the Surrey Hills, amongst many other places. They also provided a motor removals service.
Most of the information we have about them is dated 1920s and 1930s-most of it adverts from street directories and newspapers.

My Grandfather ran a Garage with a cousin in Grant Road Croydon in the 1930s it was called The Alma Garage...is this the same as Charles Taylor had been running earlier?

This photo was taken c. 1922 - 1926, I would say not later judging by the fashions which changed for young women annually.

Hi Andrew, thank you for your reply...yes this could be one and the same...Charles Taylor..
Sorry for the delay in replying have moved house and suffered a minor stroke, so only just on line again...any information would be very welcome...
-
Thanks hope your feeling well. Do you know who was at the address; 1930 - 1940 period?

Haven't a clue sorry Andrew...not been able to get down to Croydon Library (I live in Middlesex) to check anything out, would so dearly love to find out who is in the picture, or just any information at all. Just know that it has been in the Family for many years...
