Title: SEWARD MORDEN 1901
Post by: tioman on Friday 21 January 05 14:18 GMT (UK)
Looking for info about Rufus White Seward who was farming at Morden (can't make out the name of the farm on the 1901 census) he was married to "Annie" They may have had at least two children (Louis and Reginald??).  They had only recently moved there from Devon.

Any info much appreciated

Colin

Hello Tioman

I believe Audrey provided you with details of a John Cornelius Seward b 1842 or 1843 in Bethnal Green and who died in 1895 also in Bethnal Green.

Please could you post these details as there is a possibility he may be  my ggf.

Hi Hackstaple

Thanks for John Cornelius Seward. I already had that but I hoped that Tioman would pass on data from Audrey from BVI which may give parents etc.

BIVRI cannot give parents' names. They can only be found by examination of the birth certificate. You will have to buy that. I cannot see how Audrey could have that unless she had the same certificate. ??? Am I misunderstanding something here?

Hi Hackstaple

Thanks again - no its me who lost the plot. Mind you Audrey does seem to be able to be able to produce amazing amounts of data in incredibly short periods of time.

It most definitely would be Peacock Farm in Morden - the actual address was Peacock Farm, Lower Morden Lane, Morden, Surrey.   On that site there is now a Garden Centre - not sure if it is called Peacocks nowadays.   It might be worth contacting them to see if it is still run by the family.

I only know this because I used to live in the next road and used to play on the farm with the girl who lived there although I can't remember ever knowing her surname.    Sue
