Title: Penlan Chapel, Pwllheli
Post by: Shirles on Saturday 07 June 08 23:26 BST (UK)
Hello List

Does anyone on the list know if Penlan Chapel, Pwllheli is still there please? and if so what street it is in.  It was there in 1876.

Best wishes
Shirley

Thank you William ~ There was a contact email address so I have sent them an email.  The links kept bringing me back to the same place so not much success there I'm afraid except that they refer to documents being kept in a safe at Penlan Chapel, I don't know when that was written, but it stands a chance of still being there, which is hopeful.

Thank you for your suggestion.
Best wishes

Hi there,
Yes Penlan chapel is still there.
It is in Penlan Street.
The chapel became disused a few years back and sold.
It is now being slowly renovated and used a gallery selling old maps, pictures and mirrors etc.
Hope it helps  :) :) :)

Hello

Thank you for letting me know, that is interesting and a sign of the times, but at least they haven't knocked Penlan Chapel down yet.

I will pop and see it on our next trip to Caernarvonshire which will be next year, all being well.

Best wishes
Shirley

Hello listers

Does anyone know if the registers for this chapel have been deposited at the record office, or are available for the public to consult at all, and if so where? In particular I'm looking for a baptism about 1883.

Regards,
Joe
