Can anyone help .I am tracing the Tong family I have Lavinia fanny Tong born 1878 who married William Alfred Read in 1907.I have not trace of William's parents.Lavinia's mother was also  Fannybut no maiden name or husband's name.

Hi Pam

If you get Lavina's birth certificate it will give her father and also her  mothers maiden name.

Lavina's and Alfreds marriage will also give fathers names.

Her mother was a widow in 1881.

I was hoping to find the family in 1871 to see who she was married to but I cant find them  :(

I guess you have the family on 1881

sadly Fanny senior is already a widow, so it doesnt help with Fanny Lavinia's dad's name.

Thanks for the info it is much appreciated.The other side of the family is William Read who married Lavinia Tong.William is my daughter-in-law's grandfather have come to a standstill with this side will have to order the marriage certificate.
