Hello,
I am trying to find out what happened to my deceased uncle George (Reginald George) Greenough's siblings. They were children of Ezra Greenough and Charlotte Jones of Upton.
Names
Jabez Ezra 1891, Ethel 1892, Alice 1895, Norah 1900 Alfred 1812 William 1924
If anyone knows of any of them, I would be grateful for the info.

Use freebmd to search for early deaths/marriages.
Use cwgc site to see of any died in conflicts..
Other than that, you would be looking at trawling indexes telephone books, electoral rolls..
Most of which would have to be done in person, and won't give a definitive answer.
Have you searched on GenesReunited and similar sites?

On that basis, it looks as if Norah died in 1917..

Dear Suzard,
Thank you very much for that. Great stuff. Where would I find these records?
From that it looks as if Jabez at least was living in Mapledurham at the same time as my grandfather. He is possibly the person I remember my father mentioning. Ezra's brother married my father's sister, Ivy Sellwood, hence my uncle.
Yes, Pauline, I have done all of that and gathered together some unproven information. It is people I am interested in, however, as until comparatively recently, I did not know that they existed.

Many Greenoughs in the Upton parish records and also in the closely associated parish of Blewbury.

My great-great grandmother was Ann Greenough, born in Ardington (approx 1862) . Her parents were James and Martha Greenough. She was married to Willam Brown before she married George Norris (my great-great grandfather) in Ardington. :)

Hello,
The Ardingdon Greenoughs seem to be a different scion from the Upton ones. I have done some research on James Greenough and Martha Lindsey and their 9 children, but so far have not found a link between the two groups. Not in the 19century, anyway.
Incidentally, you have your Ann's birthdate wrong. She was chr 1840 and marr William Brown in 1862 according to the IGI.
Thanks for your interest.
