My research has led me to a small 'settlement' just to the west of Withington, circa 1880, called West Lydiat. I can't tell from old maps if it is part of the village or if it's actually part of the nearby Nunnington Court estate to which it might be connected by a lane.
Does anyone have any knowledge of this area, or might be able to suggest a way of finding out about it? What was it, what was it's purpose, is it still there, were there houses there, and who lived there???
Any interest gratefully accepted. H!
