After todays mini meet in Ipswich with gjil and Mongoose, we've decided we're going to have another on the 19th October at Southbank..........who'd like to come??
So far we have
Karenlee
Tephra
Jackie
KazzaQld
Ozlady
Trish
Charlotte
Grab a canoe - broomstick - camel - jet ski - or just your walking boots and make your way over here.
Barbara

Now that's created an immediate problem for those of us (maybe only one of us) who have said we will try to go to the Melbourne Meet on the same day! I will have to offer my apologies for the Brisbane meet.
MarieC
-
Not a problem Marie, perhaps the next time we have a meet ;D
-
Perhaps... as long as it doesn't clash with anything next time! ::) ::)
MarieC
-
Hi MarieC
We shall have to link you to Dee - she travelled SA to Brisbane & you are heading Brisbane to Melbourne - very impressive :)
I would LOVE an excuse to visit Sydney. Are there any NSW chatters who want to organise a meet - I'll be there! Whatever the day.
Barbara
Where are we meeting? Is it to be a carefree day where we eat drink and chat? I should probably catch the bus! Apart from the price of fuel, driving does interfere with the drinking.
And another question (I have had a few YTs this pm) - does it have to be a Sunday? Awful busy in that part of town on a Sunday. Could those that do have to work to support the family have a day off work so we could meet on a Tuesday. Tuesday's are my favourite day. Everyone stays home or goes to work. Going to other places is a breeze.
You may yell at me if I am not allowed to make such suggestions - no doubt it was all worked out at the late lunch that I missed :-\ :-\
Trish
-
Hi Trish
Yep...........you should have stayed around for the lunch and chin wag session, that's when all the arrangements were made.......I'm just posting the info, shout at Karenlee and Dee and Kazza............ ;D ;D ;D
This next one is only going to be a meal and a natter and a drink and a natter and another drink and a natter............you get the picture ;D ;D
Barbara
-
yep get the picture ;D ;D

Will you be paddling your canoe over Ricky??
Oh by the way, I spoke to Ozlady last night and she sent her apologies for Wednesday, totally unforeseen circumstances kept her away. :-\ :-\

I have 1 - yes that is ONE appointment per week and you manage to organise a pub lunch on that particular day. I am beginning to think it is an English plot against we Irish rebels. No wonder my folks didn't want to register their childers ;D
Trish
-
I'll speak to the others and see if we can change it.............just for you!! How does the Saturday suit you??

Like your good self, Trish, I wanted an excuse to visit Melbourne, a city that I really like - plus I'd love to meet some of our Southern Rootschatters!
The date of the Melbourne Meet has been advertised on here for quite a while, and I do think it's a shame that the Brisbane Meet has been organised in competition, as it were...

Didn't I just mention Tuesday ??? ??? - but I can come any day except Wednesday Barbara - so I will accept the majority vote for Sunday - I just wondered, in my YT state, if another day outside of the weekend was considered. I'll retire defeated and come on Sunday.

MarieC
Well I think the intention was in conjunction rather than in competition - a kind of global virtual meet if you will!
I don't think anyone thought that people from Brisbane would be going to Melbourne for their meet - suppose we should have really.....
Maybe we do look at a midweek meet although speaking as a wageslave that does make it trickier....
-
I shall have to whisper MarieC - I'm not much of a fan of Melbourne - I eternally get lost, I get confused with the trams, and I am never in the lane I should be in to get anywhere. How anyone turns right in the centre city area is truly beyond me :-\ :-\ BUT they have great food in Lygon Street and I know how to get there!!
Trish
-
Kazza
Forgive me - I just had a couple of vinos & thought Tuesday would be a good day - my apologies to those souls who needs must are working for us all - Sunday is just fine!
Actually Sunday is probably cheaper on the bus than other days, unless you have one of those cards that charge you extra just because they can
Trish
-
Sorry and all that folks.......but it really doesn't matter WHEN the day or date is, there's always going to be somebody who can't make it that particular day or date, it's Murphy's Law isn't it.
And like Kazza said, it wasn't meant to be in competition with Melbourne.........although let's face it, Brisbane wins over Melbourne any day!!.........rather in conjunction with it.
Barbara
-
Trish,
I never try to drive in Melbourne, I catch the wonderful trams (agree the traffic rules are confusing), and I don't follow AFL. I just love the parks, the beauty of the city, the history, the food, the shopping, the MCG, the cricket, the MCG... Only thing I don't like is the climate, and I'm hoping to jag a warm weekend! Melbourne is a wonderful city.
MarieC
PS Did I mention the MCG??
-
Too true Barbara...... there are always those who would not be able to make it no matter what day or where or when or whatever.... shame about that, but it's easier to just pick the details and then post 'em and see who answers "YES".
Fingers crossed that the weather is a darned sight better than it's been today.... tomorrow and the weekend supposed to be even worse. Looks like Barry and Deb picked a good time to leave Brisbane. ;D
Hey MarieC ....... what's that about the "G"? Do you like it there or what?? ;D ;D
Karenlee
-
Now tell me is it still coolish down Brissie way in October?
Just might have to see what I can do, no one seemed interested in a mini meet in Townsville.
So I might have to venture down to the big smoke, twice in one year oh my giddy stars ;D
Jenn of the North
-
The "G"? Cricket, Karenlee, cricket! Wonderful cricket ground with a great historical museum. Cricket - the game they play in heaven!
MarieC
-
Well it aint the Arctic and it aint the tropics either Jenn............... it's usually pretty nice in October actually............. so come on down and check it out............
Karenlee
-
I am coming down the first week of July so I reckon that October will be a tad warmer, After living up this way for many years anything under 20 is cold to me 8) so I will probably feel like Antarctica to me
best wishes Jenn

Hi Jenn
If you have a few spare hours away from the birds :) in July, let us know - we can always have a mini mini meet & say hello over a vino! What part of town are you inhabiting - we seem to have rootschatters from the four corners of Brisbane ;D
Trish
-
We could organise a Mini Mini Meet........no problem..........I think - maybe - possibly!!!
Barbara
-
What day/date do you have free for a meet up Jenn?? We could all meet up at Southbank!!
Barbara
-
Hello there
Trisha and Tephra, that would be wonderfull however we have only four days free leading up to the Parrot Convention and we are travelling down with our friends and so far they have organized "stuff" for at least two days a trip to the Ipswich Railway Museum..don't know if that grabs me but apparently it is good? I really want to go down to Bryon Bay on one of our days, it is a standing joke either my husband if he is driving or Merv our mate allways miss the turnoff when we are heading further south on our yearly adventure. So I said this year I am driving down even if I got to go by myself!!!
So I think it will be too damn difficult which is a real shame cause it would be so lovely to put a face to a name so will have to try for the end of the year, but I do know we are back down to Brissie on our own early next year about march so would love to do it then if I miss October.
Thanks ladies for your very kind offer, I hope you are getting lots of that lovely rain falling down there at the moment
kind regards Jenn
-
Oh no Jenn, don't go to Byron by yourself....................... TAKE ME WITH YOU. ;D ;D ;D
I love it there and it's definately the kind of place where you need someone with you -------- even if it's to whisper and giggle " Blimey did you see THAT!!!" Byron is that kind of place. There's a fantastic cake shop, and some wonderful galleries with amazing local artwork.
Karenlee
-
Did you say cake shop, now that beats a bottle shop in my Book well almost (she says sighing)
Perhaps Rootschatters could cover cake shops in Australia for any overseas visitors, a lot have died out because of Woolies and Coles though.
There is a glorious cake shop in Urala in NSW that is to die for all the old fashioned cakes it was so hard to choose just one.
Byron is just a wonderfull place have not been there since the early seventies, I do so want to see what modernization has done to the place.
Kind regards Jenn
-
Jenn
This shop in Byron is to DIE FOR. Pastries -- both savoury and sweet, cakes, rolls, tarts, pies. It's got the lot. We always go in there when we go down.
Don't despair, there are a couple of bottle shops too......... and some really great little cafe/restaurants. One is The Balcony, great comfy couches out on a huge verandah, fantastic food, and lots of different wines, cocktails and beers to choose from........ Could stay all day if the bank balance would allow.
Karenlee

Hi Karenlee
Seems you may need gumboots for the walking in the cemetery at the minute ;D
I foolishly drove through (crawled through, hiccuped through) BB one January a couple of years ago - there are more peaceful places to visit on the NSW coast - wall to wall cars - just impossible
Jenn
If you drive down the motor way from Brisbane & once over the border take the exit to Kingscliffe/Cabarita - I think the Road is called the Tweed Valley way or similar - there are some beautiful spots. As long as it isn't the school holidays reasonably quiet. Drive throught to Pottsville and you can return the same way or short cut back up the freeway. Much closer and a nicer drive than going to Byron Bay - but perhaps the BB addicts will disagree.
My daughter wanted to go to BB for New Years Eve a few years ago - when I discovered it was going to cost $3000 for an apartment for 1 week :-\ :-\ we didn't make it.
Trish
-
I wish you lot would stop talking about cake shops..........I'm putting on kilos by the minute ::) ::) ::)
It would be lovely if you could get even a couple of hours off.......skip the Railway Museum and come and meet up with us lot..........Karen will bring a cake..........promise ;D ;D
Hi Karen :-*
Hi Trish ;)
Barbara
-
Course I will Barbara.... and you'll bring the YT huh?
Karenlee
who agrees that Jenn should skip the Railway Museum and do something more interesting - like visit with us. ;D ;D
-
There you go Jenn............get OH to drop you off at Southbank on the way through, promise you'll have more fun with us lot ;D ;D
Barbara
-
Won't be as nice as one from the shop at Byron, but it'll be a good one............... chocolate okay with you lot??
Karenlee
-
Make it Double Choc and you're on ;D ;D ;D
-
O h it does sound nice we will be staying first up at Indooroopilly have I spelt that right ;D
So is that difficult to make my way into town/Southbank, I will be the short plump middleaged old lady freezing her butt off. :o
Jenn of the North
-
It's easy to get to Southbank by either train or bus from Indooroopooolilllly........ :P and you'll be in good company with the rest of the middle aged plump ladies freezing their butt off...........moi excluded of course ::) ::)
Barbara
-
Oi Sunshine............speak for yourself........plump maybe, but middle aged -- not a chance baby. :P
Southbank from Indro is easy.... there's a bus or a train into the city and a walk over a bridge and you're there. There are several websites that will provide information about access to the city and southbank from lots of places. Of course, I could always come get you and we can go together.
Karenlee
-
Whoooooooooooooooooo Hooooooooooooo PrueM is trying to get up for the October Mini Meet........ ;D ;D
So that's
KazzaQld
Karenlee
Ozlady
Trish
Me
Prue

Who else??

If you're at indooroopilly (with the world's worst shopping town) I'll pick you up on the way 8) 8) - somewhere - or there is ye olde fancy cake shop right there - speaking of cakes - and I can't remember the name - but they used to be in Edward Street - until the block got rebuilt
Trish
Edit: My FIL would think it a sin if I took you away from the Railway workshops - he used to work there - says it is the best museum in the universe - I haven't been there :-\
-
Just thought I'd bring this back to the top.........is everyone still on for the meet??
Barbara
-
Oh dear not me for July but definately hoping for the October meet.
Now Trisha why is the Indooroopilly shopping centre the Worst!
regards Jenn
-
1. You'll get lost
2. You'll lose your car
3. It's a b*gg*r getting in to
4. You'll get lost
5. It's a b*gg*r getting out of
6. You'll get lost.
Pity about the July meet up Jenn, but do give it a try for October.
Barbara
-
Oh Barbara you did made me laugh. Now we are staying one street back from it. So maybe better to walk. Is it worth a look do you think?
regards Jenn
-
I haven't been for years, but yes, it's worth it.........or it was!!! Much better to walk, but do watch the traffic, it's deadly :-\
Barbara
-
Indooroopilly is much easier than Chermside IMHO - but then I grew up near Indro and my Mum used to have a shop in the complex, so I know it well.
-
That does help Kazza............ ;D ;D Perhaps it's only me that gets lost in shopping centres....... ::) ::)
-
Well I get lost in Chermside! I am not bad at navigating them though - have been all over Queensland installing computers in shops so you get to see all kinds.
-
Oh, what terrible things to say about one of the best shopping centres in Brisbane after the City itself. I love Indro..... it's got everything........ well almost.....
Jenn............. I'll come with you.... I never get lost there.
Karenlee
-
There's always a first time........ ;D ;D ;D
And we're to get another for our meet are we Karen??
-
Not sure Barbara.... there was interest shown at the time...... we'll see if it last the distance.
Karenlee
-
I'll bring the list forward.

Let me know if there's anyone else for the meet.........the more the merrier ;D

I'm getting the soap out after that support for Indooroopilly - bricks and mortar. Have you ever looked at it from Mt Cootha or the top of the Cemetery - ahhhhhhhh - terrible place
But, if you like shopping centres, it's probably no worse than others ;D
It's certainly not a getting lost place Barbara - 3 floors - straight, no curves and corners - 1 building. My daughter rang 000 for help the first time I went to the Myer Centre in the city. Convinced I was lost for all time ;D ;D Definitely take the packed lunch.
And for whoever said to get the bus from Indro to the city and walk over the bridge to Southbank? The bus goes over the bridge - no need to walk - unless you want the exercise ;D ;D - but oh my gosh - got the bus home last Wednesday at 4pm - sardines is the polite description as to us in the bus - 35 minutes from City to Indro- ahhhhhhh
Is 19 October a Sunday? If so, I might drive, if I can afford the petrol. If you get there before 10, can usually park in the library car park.

At the risk of committing offences explained therein ;)
It is good to se you Brissie folk getting out so well.................it is very helpfull to a "bushie" to know a little of the big smoke they are visiting. SO girls where is the best shopping centre??????????
Jenn of the north coast
-
I think the items "best" and "shopping centre" are a contradiction in terms, but perhaps there is a "best" of something that should not exist!!
I'm just a grouch - but I liked the smaller local centres that used to exist.
I stopped going to Indooropilly when they downsized the medicare office to the extent that the corridoor was so crowded with the queue I thought there were free giveaways & waited with the rest.
I got lost one too many times at the Myer Centre and gave it away. I cried when they closed the old David Jones city store and have been to their new store just the once.
Most other places you have to arrive by 9am to get a parking space - and I don't get up much before that time ::) I rather liked the US shopping hours (years ago) Nothing opened before 10am :D
I think you will find the railway museum much more interesting than shopping centres, Jenn, but if not there is a new set of shops in Ipswich called "Riverlink" very close to the old railway workshops 8)
Trish
-
Trish, I can get lost in Woolies Supermarket!! ::) ::) ::)
-
Shopping is not my forte, get a bit claustrophobic at Christmas with crowds, so not a big must do but have some shopping to be done. Apprently there is a Picaso exhibition on done there at that time too
regards Jenn
-
Yes Jenn. There is a showing of Picasso's personal art collection here at the GOMA ( Gallery of Modern Art ). Which is right next door to the State Library which has lots of family history stuff........ ;D ;D ;D
Karenlee
-
Trish
Better start a petrol fund, if we are going to drive to Darwin to look for your mysterious ancestor!! ;D ;D
I can relate to getting lost in the Myer Centre - I did that a number of times when I first went into it. Rarely go into any Brissie shopping centres now, for obvious reasons. I agree that shopping centres are not nice places.
MarieC
-
Trish, I can get lost in Woolies Supermarket!! ::) ::) ::)
How on earth did you find your way to Australia ;D ;D

Was it you who said that Barbara :o :o

Could well have been Barbara. Certainly wouldn't have been her sensible mother. Makes you wonder how some mothers do have 'em?

Hi all,
I think it could be interesting that the Brissy meet is the same day as the Melbourne meet, how can we do some kind of hook up?
The meet is at my place, so computer access no problem for us.
Hope you all have a great time, I think our numbers are somewhere between 20 and 30 now :o . . . and did I mention it is at my place :o
Margaret
-
Wasn't it at your place last time Margaret.........you're a sucker for punishment ;D ;D ;D
I think there's only a few of us going to meet at Southbank in Brisbane....we should have the weather for it in October.
A link up, the only thing I can think of at the moment is by phone.......Unless Karen has a Lap Top!!!
Barbara
-
Hi Tephra,
yep it was at my place last year.
And it was such a success I thought, why not, again. 8)
We have just added on a deck, so hopefully I can accommodate the mob ;D
I have a few projects on the go for the meet, but shhhh, some of it is secret.
Phone sounds ok. Laptop too, but it would be great if we had visuals. :-\
Margaret
-
Secret projects...........hmmmmmm sounds interesting, tell me more, promise I wont tell anyone ;) ;)
Visuals.........I'll have to work on that. ;D
-
Oh and Dee, whats with the heavy Sighs ???
Your coming here!!!
Tephra, sending p.m. not allowed to tell MarieC, Dee, or Cazza. ;)
Margaret

My lips are sealed :-X :-X :-X

I'd like to be at both too. :)

I would offer my spare room, but lately my house has become the backpackers hostel for the elderly ;D
OH auntie said " I like this boarding house, I might stay another week", she was having a joke of course. Not bad for 88.
Margaret
-
Or you're hoping she was joking............!!! :o :o :o
Barbara
-
Yeah, she's gone now, but her brother moved in the day she moved out, he is 86, stayed a week and half, but he was just out of hospital so shall forgive him.
Mind you had him here for 3 months before anyway.
Think I might knock down some walls so I don't have a spare room ;D
Thats it, I'm off to bed.
Margaret
-
That sounds like an excellent idea..........or get a large shed for the back yard and offer them that!!!
Night Margaret

State library there - free access to the internet :D (might have to book a time) but then again - mostly having brunch a distance away - I have a lap top but no mobile connection :(
Trish
-
We'll work something out Trish.......might have to ask the Library what they have available re web cams!!!
Don't fancy our chances though ;D ;D
Barbara
-
I have a laptop with wifi and can bring webcam - sorted!!
-
Well done Kazza.... :-* :-*.......I knew it would get sorted out........Now all we need to do is remember NOT to face the web cam with a drink in our hands!! ;D ;D
Barbara
-
Not sure how we'd do it - Meg do you have a Skype account? or MSN has video chat I think too?
-
kazza, Are you trying to put people off coming or does one wear a carnival mask?
charlotte
-
My webcam is not very big - you would have to choose to put yourself in front of it.
So please don't be put off - there will be no compulsion to appear in front of the camera - web or otherwise! :)
-
Oh, come on girls, don't be coy ;D
You can't all have warts on yor noses.
Ah! Vanity - thy name is woman ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

think I can make the meet on the 19th unless I am called away for Oma duties.

Now WHAT weren't you allowed to tell MarieC, a page or two back?? ??? ???
I'm rather peeved that Brisbane put their meet on the same day as Melbourne. But I'd already committed to yours, Margaret, so if I get to one, it will be the Melbourne one.
No cameras please, webcams or other. It only causes big problems (and I speak from experience!)
MarieC
-
Is there something we're not allowed to tell you Marie.......... ::) ::) ::) As she walks away all innocent ;)
-
Well, if there are going to be secrets, and in-groups, and those-who-know-things and those-who-don't, I'll probably forget about all meets! Not my scene, this kind of thing...
MarieC
-
Secrets, Secrets - I love secrets - I tell 'em to everyone - Maybe that is why no-one has told me a secret lately :-\ :-\
Unlike my grandmother, who kept a secret for 87 years - I can't last 87 minutes - just maybe 87 seconds ;D
KazzaQld - you are obviously the computer expert - what is a wifi and a skype account - On second thoughts, my brain really doesn't handle adsl wans and most other techo words - so I'll pass ;D
Trish
-
Marie, I thought you'd said after the meet in Brisbane nearly a year ago you wouldn't be going to any more anyway!!
-
I don't know anything about in-groups......but I know Margaret is working on a special project that is to be a surprise for us all. :D :D
I'm just looking forward to meeting other Rootschatters. As for cameras and photos....I'll have my camera and camcorder with me .....they gather memories for ME. (If anyone wants to opt out, that is their choice.)
It is lovely to sit and look back at things like that....especially when you spend so much of your time alone.
I would never share those "memories" in a public forum without permission of those concerned.
.....dee
-
Do you have room in your albums / on your computer for any "grown up" pictures Dee ;D You have a most wonderful collection of the wee one :)
Trish
-
Sorry all, I have not had any notification in the last few days :'(
Marie, please don't be upset, the surprise should be a nice one, its all good, really.
Ok, no web, no pics, just hello on the computer or via phone.
Sorry if I stressed anyone.
Both meets should be a lot of fun, but ours in Melbourne will be better, so Marie - get that bag packed and ready for a great time :o ;D ;D ;D
Margaret
-
Maybe we should just have it in Sydney & all meet there :D I do love Sydney. Given the price of fuel, we would probably need to use Barbara's cycle bus ;D
Trish
-
Hi Trish,
sounds like a plan 8)
Maybe next year though, I just couldn't do it this year.
cheers
Margaret
-
Can I just say something ?? ... you guys keep having meets and I have a "little green eye " :-\ :-\
So ... whats to eat when you all get there ?? :D
-
Hi Annie,
wish you could make the trip.
Us down south haven't made up our mind yet, last year was 'bring a plate', more food than we could eat.

Maybe we should just have it in Sydney & all meet there I do love Sydney. Given the price of fuel, we would probably need to use Barbara's cycle bus
That is really a very good idead Trisha a big meet like they have in the Uk
Sydney is close to Melbourne and Brissie well as close as you can get in our big wide country plus you can get direct flight from Adeliade to Sydney and oh of course Townsville to Sydney.
Where abouts in Sydney would we all go..............Rookwood cemetery ;D

Bondi Beach, of course - where else does one go in Sydney ;D - although I do have a few family at Rookwood.
Annie - we talk - no time for food - and if you try to go to the local pub for afters - Barbara gets everyone lost ::) ::)
Trish

And then I'd have two reasons to visit Sydney....... :D :D :D

The Cornish grandmother wouldn't believe that story Barbara, and neither does her grandaughter ;D But the latter will have to turn up to the meet, if only to ensure we make it to lunch before sundown ;D

If my suspect memory is correct in relation to children's stories - I don't think that method worked too well either. Just bring your Mum - She'll sort it out ;D

That there Barbara has everyone conned - but not me - I've got the Cornish grandmother's tried and true method of disbelieving everyone (and keeping secrets) ;D ;D
Trish
-
Hey, hang on a mo........it's not me that's conned everyone........Mum comes across as a sweet little old lady who wouldn't say boo to a goose........But she's a bit more 'Arsenic and Old Lace' than you think.......... ;D ;D ;D

What does one have to do to get the last word at your place Barbara ??? ??? I'm fast running out of ideas and grandmothers (The other one was such a kind soul, she'd have chatted to your Mum all day - and helped with eating dessert)

Had a couple of days with my daughter, SIL and grandson down in Byron last weekend. I don't like the town very much, too many weirdos, but great for people watching! We stayed at Tallows Beach which is out of town.

I think we're all back from the Mini Meet........I think we're all suitable stoooooofed, I know I am.

What a great day....
great food
great wine

great chat with dee on the phone
Can we do it again soon???
Karenlee
-
We sure can Karen..........how about a BYO picnic next time, we can sit under a shady tree and gossip to our hearts content.......think I'll catch the train next time, parking...............$30........... :o :o :o Didn't expect that much!!! ::) ::)
-
That's fairly cheap for Southbank..... usually lots more than that through the week.....in the City through the week it's $15/hr and on weekends $30 for the day.....
Train or bus next time... I suppose that you can always try and find my place and then take transport with me.... but probably not worth the hassle of finding my place......
Karenlee
-
It's as easy to drive to the station and catch the train Karen, but thanks. It's just been soooooooooooooooooooo long since I've parked in Brisbane I'd forgotten how expensive it was!!!
Yep, BYO picnic next time for Christmas drinks :D :D
-
Hi there, glad you northerners had a brilliant time,
we did tooooo! ;D
putting pics up in TOT soon.
Margaret
-
We talked about you lot down there in Melbourne while we lazed in the shade.......... and wondered how your meet was going.... look forward to the piccies.
Glad to hear that you had fun tooo...
Karenlee
-
Maybe if there are any piccies of the Brisbane Mini Meet that can be posted.....there could be a shared thread.......
Is that a possibility?
-
Shall have to wait on Sue ( floozy ) to get her pictures downloaded as it was her camera that we used to take the group photos on....... and it's Charlotte's fault all the empty bottles ended up in front of me....... coz she put them there.... they were planted......... ;D ;D ;D
Karenlee
-
sorry Dee, rushed ahead and got me pics up already ;)
Can change the subject if so desired.
Margaret
-
I'm just thinking along with Margaret that any piccies should really go on the Tot Board.....as that has restricted access...... ;) :D :D
-
Hi Margaret
If your Mini Meet was half as good as ours then you had a great time. The weather was fantastic, not too hot, and the food lovely. The company was even better........and at one stage we actually talked about genealogy.......!!! ;) ;) ;)
-
Am I too late?
Have I missed the meet?
I'm dressed, just need to put my shoes on.
Oh aye, and find my passport, book a flight and get round this time zone thingy..........
Looking forward to seeing photos.
I'll post some from the Glasgow meet in a few weeks.
Hope you enjoy(ed). Honest, can't work out the time diff.

-
Sorry Dave, you're just a tad too late, better luck next time ;D
Mum and I said the same Floozy......and if it wasn't for the fact Mum was in the chair, we would have caught the train!! $30 for parking......what a rip off!!

Indeed. It would be nice to have another one - but I don't know who would be up for organising it after all this time! :)
MarieC
-
maybe we could organise something later this year if anyone would love to come. Will keep this in mind and organise something.
regards Susan
-
Just bookmarking :)
I was in lovely Brisbane / Gold Coast for a few days last week (attending a tangi unfortunately). There's a slim chance I could get there again, depending on dates :-\
Carol
-
Anyone up for a 'Mini-Meet' ???
If enough people are interested I could organise one, no problem. ;-)
-
Hi Tephra,
I'm interested. It depends if it's a day when I could come to Brisbane. We'll see what happens.
MarieC
-
OK MarieC I'll start a thread offering a Mini-Meet for a little later on this year, possibly the end of November?
-
Sounds like a plan! Not sure yet what end of year U3A activities I will have, but should know that within the next month or so.
-
Here'a a link to the new Mini-Meet thread, put your name down. ;D ;D
