Hi,
The following family are showing on searches on sites like 1901censusonline, Genes Reunited, but not on Ancestry, if anyone has the discs for the 1851 census etc, I would really appreciate a lookup please, as it would cost £5 otherwise. The family are:
William Simms, 36, Howden
Martha " , 35, Hull
James " , 13, "
George " , 7 "
Joseph " , 7 "
Mary Ann " , 5 "
They are shown in the Myton registration district, I would love to know if there are any other children or relatives with them.
Regards,
Kath

Hi Pam,
Thank you, I have those censuses, it is only the 1851 census I am after. It is frustrating as I can see the family on the other websites, but they are not showing on Ancestry at all.
No doubt there would be no in laws or other relatives on there; but it would be nice to be certain :D
Thanks again for your time.

Hi Kath,
I have a lot of Howden Simms/Sims in my family, are you related? x
-
Hi ClarrieLou,
My husband is descended from this family, in fact from Frederick born in 1852, Hull; Mary's maiden name was Webster.
As yet I have not gone back any further. Is there a connection?

Hi Kath,
Yes, I think I can detect William Sims on my tree! Basically, I believe all the Howden Simms/Sims descend from James Simms and Elizabeth Brown (who were born in the early 1700s).
I think your William is the son of James Simms and Ann Holdsworth?
So:
James Simms and Elizabeth Brown (Gen 1)
James Simms and Susannah Elcock (Gen 2)
James Simms and Ann Holdsworth (Gen 3)
William Simms and Martha
Does that tie in with you? My family is another branch from generation 2, James and Elizabeth's son David, as opposed to James Jr.

Hi Claire,
There is a submitted entry on the IGI, that does have an appropriately aged William with parents James and Ann Holdsworth.
I realised I said Mary Webster earlier instead of Martha Webster (Mary Webster is a friend of mine oops) :P
I will PM you with my email address, if you wanted to communicate further.
Regards,
Kath
