Hi there

IGI shows extracted birth/christening record for William Kinghorn, b. 18 Apr 1813/ch 02 May 1813 @ Sleat, Inverness to Abraham Kinghorn and Margt McNab.  No other children showing to the couple on IGI.

in 1851, William is a soldier, stationed at Edinburgh Castle. Private, age 41yrs, born Slate (sic) Invernessshire.

No sign of him in 1841/1861 so far, but he may have been abroad with his regiment.

Regards

Ellen.

I cannot believe it! Have just signed up and the first link I find this reference to Kinghorn.
There is a reference to Anne who married Roderick McLean - I am a descendant of theirs, on my father's side, wow. However, I thought it was spelt Ann??

If anyone wants a bit more info on Ann & Roderick, I can help.
