Title: 1901 census South Manchester
Post by: beenie on Wednesday 07 May 08 19:49 BST (UK)
Hi,
I hope someone can help me look for my Grt-Grandparents Thomas and Mary Ann Hynes (Hines) with children Catherine 3, Mary Winifred 4 months and possibly John and Joseph, I'm sorry I don't have any other ages. On my Grandmother's birth certificate dated 3 December 1900 their address is 35 Great Jackson Street, Hulme, Chorlton District. I am desperate to find Thomas and Mary Ann's ages and Nationalities, as we were always told my Grandmother was born in Ireland until I recieved her Birth certificate.
Thank you in Anticipation
Beenie

There are two Catherine Hines b. Manchester;  one aged 4 daughter of John and Mary, and one aged 8 living with grandparents, who are

William Mulvey  60  B. Manchester
Bridget Mulvey 56  B.  Ireland
John Mulvery 28  B. Manchester
Joseph Mulvey 17 B. manchester
Catherine Hines  8  B. Manchester

I assume John and Joseph are William and Bridgets sons, however An***ry has thrown a wobbly on me and I can't see the image just now.

Hi MUM 44,
Thank you so much for this information, it is wonderful, not only do I have Thomas and Mary Ann, but her parents and brothers. I can now go to the Register Office and find their Marriage Certificates, so Thank you again, it is very much appreciated!
Kind Regards

Beenie  -  you're welcome.

Mary Ann Mulvey married Thomas Hynes
Q3. 1890 Manchester
Vol 8d. Pg 411

and

William Mulvey married Q2 1869 Manchester
Vol 8d. 677

There are two Bridgets on the page - Bridget Cain and Bridget Condon   ???

I looked on the 1861 census -  both Bridgets were born in Ireland - so you'll need the certificate to diecover which is your 2 x great grandmother  ;D

Hi MUM44,
Thank you so much for this extra information, it is so kind of you, this is my father's side of my family, unfortunately I have no living relatives on his side to ask for any information, my Grandmother Mary Winifred Hynes said she was born in Ireland, I don't know why, it was only when I got her birth cerificate that I found out her Mother's name, I did know her Father was Thomas from her Marriage Certificate. So Thank you again
Kind Regards
Beenie
