Hi Sandy
This looks like it may be your William EADY.
William Eady
died 1914 - born c. 1830
buried - Purewa Cemetery, Auckland.

This family arrived in Auckland 1865 aboard the "Andrew Jackson".
> EADY } No ages or place
Mary
Louisa } of origin I'm afraid
William
Arthur
Louis Roberts
The listing directly below shows
> EADY - William
(I'm presuming they are all one family - William and Mary the parents ?).

Will see if I can find another passenger list for this voyage which may have more detail.

Ah ... if you look again at the Purewa Cemetery listings,
William EADY is buried with Mary Louise EADY (b.c. 1829)
And two children shown on the passenger list, Arthur and Louis Roberts EADY, are also buried at Purewa.
Mmm ... after all that, I hope they are "yours" (or I might just have to start hunting all over again) ? :)

And might this be William and Mary's marriage ?

Sandy
Thought I recognised the name - Lewis Eady was (and still is) a very well known music shop here in Auckland - it was the place to go for sheet music or anything musical.
There is a history of the company on their website
http://www.lewiseady.co.nz/History.html?id=jWfqjeRH
which includes photos of the various shops.
Cheers

(And photos of some handsome fellas too).
Sandy ... this is the reference from the NZ Marriage Index just in case you should need it.

Very well known in Auckland as you say Fiona, and I think of it immediately when I hear the name Eady but hadn't made a connection. I had a girl in my year at school with that name too and didn't think it particularly unusual.
Should be heaps of 'notes' to uncover then

Sandy I don't think I'm going to have any trouble finding the plots to photograph, looked up all the Eady names at Purewa and most of them are together. Will get on to that asap :)
