It could be the ones in Albion Park that are her nieces and nephews.

On the 1891 English Census

Rg13/1436 Pg 1 Folio 60 Coton Sch 6

Mary is living on her own means at Coton (a couple of villages away from Guilsborough)

On  the war record  for Charles D (Daubney) Bateman  you  will see he  is a medical  practioner,  perhaps  the Aunt  helped  with the education  of all  those children.

Can't find many marriages for those children.....

but there's one for a Thomas A Bateman in 1912 to a Violet A Blomfield at Wollongong.
Ref = 11860

And this one is interesting....actually 3 entries....all with the reference no of 15020
Florence K Bateman to Harry J D  DEVENISH-MEARES in Sydney in 1929 for the first two entries. and in the third he is just Harry J D  MEARES.

OK Sandy.....great news...... I'll go back to packing and unpacking!  ;D  ;D  ;D

Hi Jenn and Dee

Thanks for P.M.'s Jenn I know what you mean about the information brilliant though it was.

Dee I am really trying to see if we can work out who these nieces and nephews
are/were and why Mary had the stone erected by them.

Also if any off the lineage is still over there.

I know most of the English information living in the County.

I see Jenn mentioned that there is an online WW1 war record for Charled Daubeny Bateman at the National Archives of Australia website.

Well he obviously had a son Peter
.....see http://www.ww2roll.gov.au/

The father's name is on the record, and the name Daubeny appears.

Hi Sandy

Rylstone NSW district history is now being recorded on a free wiki which can be found at

http://rdhsrwgroup.wetpaint.com/page/Index+to+all+pages+on+the+wiki

The wiki has some information about Arthur Wigley Bateman, and his family. The wiki, which is thoroughly indexed by Google, has already proven a useful resource for researchers trying to locate unknown information. If you would add what you know about Arthur Bateman, and his family, to his page which can be found at

http://rdhsrwgroup.wetpaint.com/page/Bateman%2C+Arthur+Wigley

someone out there may provide the information you seek.

Cheers, Fiona

Hi
Not sure if you are still looking?  My grandmother was one of Mary Daubeny Bateman's neices. Her name was Mary Louisa Daubeny Bateman - Arthur Wigley Bateman and Anna Louisa Bateman's first child (born in 1880).  My father, William Daubeny Raftery, was born in Albion Park and spent most of his life there.

I also have a large amount of information on this family and its history. I am a decedent of Florence (Thomas' son Arthur's youngest daughter). A whole pile of paperwork on the family history was accumulated by my mother and my grandmother (Florence); including letters from Arthur depicting their early life here in Australia and also about the life of Thomas and Marianne back "home".
