On the war record for Charles D (Daubney) Bateman you will see he is a medical practioner, perhaps the Aunt helped with the education of all those children.

Hi Jenn
That was Mary's middle name so maybe we can find a connection to why it runs through the family.

Florence K Bateman to Harry J D DEVENISH-MEARES in Sydney in 1929 for the first two entries. and in the third he is just Harry J D MEARES.

Also if any off the lineage is still over there.
I know most of the English information living in the County.

Well he obviously had a son Peter

The father's name is on the record, and the name Daubeny appears.

Hi Sandy
Rylstone NSW district history is now being recorded on a free wiki which can be found at
http://rdhsrwgroup.wetpaint.com/page/Index+to+all+pages+on+the+wiki
The wiki has some information about Arthur Wigley Bateman, and his family. The wiki, which is thoroughly indexed by Google, has already proven a useful resource for researchers trying to locate unknown information. If you would add what you know about Arthur Bateman, and his family, to his page which can be found at
http://rdhsrwgroup.wetpaint.com/page/Bateman%2C+Arthur+Wigley
someone out there may provide the information you seek.
Cheers, Fiona

Hi
Not sure if you are still looking? My grandmother was one of Mary Daubeny Bateman's neices. Her name was Mary Louisa Daubeny Bateman - Arthur Wigley Bateman and Anna Louisa Bateman's first child (born in 1880). My father, William Daubeny Raftery, was born in Albion Park and spent most of his life there.

I also have a large amount of information on this family and its history. I am a decedent of Florence (Thomas' son Arthur's youngest daughter). A whole pile of paperwork on the family history was accumulated by my mother and my grandmother (Florence); including letters from Arthur depicting their early life here in Australia and also about the life of Thomas and Marianne back "home".
