Title: Graham/Robertson in Polmont
Post by: tigger_lass on Tuesday 29 April 08 09:35 BST (UK)
Hi

I am looking for any help in finding out more about the parents of Helen Graham, my 3xgreat grandmother who was born in Polmont 22/4/1827. Her parents were James Graham and Helen Robertson and I dont seem to be able to tie in anything else to them other than a wedding on 27 February 1807 also at Polmont.

Can anyone help?

Regards

Tracey

Hi Ev

I'm really sorry about not answering this post. I am really grateful for your help. This managed to get me the information that I needed.

Yes, you're right, this is them in both posts. James Graham was the son of James Graham and Jean Morton m. Muiravonside 1772 whilst Helen was the daughter of George Robertson and Charlotte Hardie. From this I have managed to also get George and Charlotte's parents.

Thank you again.

Hi Tracey,

I am a descendant from one of Helen Robertson's sisters, Margaret Robertson. I have gathered quite a bit of information on the Robertson's.  If you would be interested in knowing more you are welcome to contact me directly at (*)

Hi,

Hope you are all well. I really hope someone sees this!

I am directly descended from Alexander Robertson, younger brother of Helen Robertson and Margaret Robertson. I have ascertained George Robertson and Charlotte Hardie as George's parents. However, I have not been able to identify anything concrete about George's parents with any certainty. Help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Donna

Hi Gary,

Hope you are well.

I am George Robertson's 3x great granddaughter ( via his son Robert (1863-1932), grandson, George). He moved to Whickham, near Gateshead in 1863/4. My great grandfather, George lived in Wallsend and Byker, Newcastle Upon Tyne, where my grandfather Benjamin was born. My dad was born in Blaydon-on-Tyne.

Where do you fit in?

Best wishes

Donna

I too am related to this family. Helen Graham (1827-1902) was my g-g-g-grandmother. I have not explored this family line back beyond James Graham and Helen Robertson (married 1807 Polmont).

I see a number of surnames of interest to me in Tracey (Tigger_lass)'s list in her post footer. Paterson, Sedgeworth, Brodie, Dick, Graham and Robertson in most of the counties listed there.
