Title: heritage of Boyd

I'm trying to find out as much info as I can regarding my family's heritage and general info on the Boyd namesake.  I do know that my great grandfather came over from Scotland.  I do not know his name but my grandfather's name was Ellis Boyd.  Ellis Boyd settled in NE Arkansas in the early 1900's.  I am 28 years old.

Hiya,

The place to start seems to be the late 19th century census.  Do you have an approximate (or exact?) year of birth for your grandfather?  

If you could find him on a census either in the US or UK you would hopefully find where in Scotland he was born.

There were only two 'Ellis Boyd's' in the 1901 British Census.  
Both in Lancashire

No Ellis Boyd's in the 1881 British census England or Scotland
