Carolyn, thanks for the generous offer.
When you have time could you please look for the following?
Baptism of Abigail FORD about 1803
Baptisms of children of Samuel CLARKE and Letitia FAIRWEATHER:
Ann Letitia CLARKE c 1829
George CLARKE c 1832
Alfred CLARKE c 1834
James CLARKE c 1837
(If you should spot any other baptisms for this family I'd be grateful for those too, if you have time.)
Many thanks,
Chris

Hi Chris,
I have searched both the St Mary and Holy Trinity Parish records and have found no baptisms of the children of Samuel and Letitia. Nor are there any records of Letitia or of Abigail Ford. There were no Fords at all at that time, only later. The only births at that time were from Jeremiah and Sarah Clark.
Looking at the IGI I see it says "Prod St Mary Chapel" whatever that is. I do know that "Prod" is a slang word for Protestant, but I can`t understand why the IGI would use it.
In Genuki it says there were several small chapels apart from the main Churches so I feel it must refer to one of these. There was a small Catholic chapel built in 1823.
I´m sorry I can be of no help but if you need anything else please ask.
Regards
Carolyn

Just a thought ;)
There was a chapel to St Mary Magdalen which was probably part of the hospital of St John. I am not sure when this became a house but by the mid 1800s it was home to Mr Everson, a millowner.
