Title: James Reid/ Margaret Bogle

Looking for any information on James Reid and, Margaret Bogle. They lived in Lasswade, Midlothian around the 1820's. They had a daughter Grace Reid who was born there.
James was employed as a stonemason.

James Reid, 55, married, mason, born Dundee Angus
Margaret Reid, 55, wife, born Dolphinton Peebleshire.

Hello Iain,

And a possible slight note of caution.

The IGI    www.familysearch.org has 7 entries for a Margaret Bogle marrying between 1815 and 1825 in the whole of Scotland.  6 are in Lanark

The 7th marries a James Reid on 25 Sep 1819 - Canongate, Edinburgh Midlothian, Scotland.
her father - William Bogle - no mothers name given.  An 'extracted record.

A search for children to this couple from 1810 to 1850 - I can only find one -
 
William Reid - born 05 Aug 1820, Lasswade, Midlothian, Scotland.  An 'extracted record.

I'm well aware that there an anomalies within the IGI system and sometimes children don't show online.

With regards to the family on the 1841 census - it should be noted that a Margaret Reid was born on 22 April 1836 in Lasswade Midlothian to a James Reid and a Margaret Ferguson.

The only Margaret Bogles (variations)  showing in the OPRs with a father William are -

1st Sept 1788 to William Bogle and Martha Marshall, Glasgow

8th July 1792 to William Bogle and Janet Campbell, Dundee

The second one looks most likely but she might be neither of these - it would be worth finding her children's names  :-\
