Please could someone look her up in the 1841 census for me? She's my great great grandmother but she's a bit of a mystery, she was married to my great great grandfather by 1861 (when they had my great granddad) but I can't find their marriage record anywhere and then to make matters worse they changed their name from Whiteman to Hodson and moved to Birmingham. Felicia Rowson originates from Shropshire and was born about 1835. I am a bit of a beginner so any help much appreciated. Just because it appears as if they were married on my great grandfathers birth certificate does it mean they really were?
Thanks.

She's my great great grandmother, born in Shropshire 1835, she's in the 1841 census still in Shropshire, sometime between 1841 and 1861 she married my great great grandfather, Joseph Whiteman, and my great grandfather William Richard Whiteman was born in Duston Northampton in 1861. William later changed his name to Hodson and ended up in Birmingham.
Trying to find when Felicia got married and why William chose to change his name to Hodson.
I am a beginner at this so finding it hard, any help much appreciated!

Thank you so much for all this very useful information. I am sure this must be her as in all the searches I've done anywhere she is the only one ever appears with that first name and the year of birth fits with her having my Great Grandfather when she was 26. I now wonder if the subsequent name change is related to them perhaps having had my Great Grandfather out of wedlock. The sleuthing has to continue to work out when and how they met.
Thank you once again for all the help.
