Trying to find 1871 Census entry for Henry Lester. b 1850 in Wolverhampton or Cockshutts. Occupation likely to be a Coal Miner.
He was married late 1871 so may be boarding or visiting. I've found the rest of his family in 1871 census but he's on "at home".
Have entries for 1861 and 1881 but this one is eluding me.
Cheers,
Graeme

Hi Graeme
I found a Henry LASTER born Wolverhampton about 1851 ish, living with the CHEW family in Darlaston Staffordshire, but his occupation was Blacksmith. What do you think that chances are that this is the man that you are after??

Could be it! His wife was from Darlaston and apparently his marriage cert lists him as a blacksmith. He must have had a holiday from mining for a while :)
Can I trouble you for the reference? Amazing how you can search and search and someone pops up and nails it in 2 minutes :)

Actually I found it. Managed to find his wife to be as well while I was at it. It turns out she was living just around the corner, probably only a couple hundred feet away.
I've picked up two extra skills along the way as well so it was a great wee find. Many thanks!
Cheers,
Graeme
