Title: Emigrants to Portugal 18th century ?
Post by: soc63 on Thursday 17 April 08 17:12 BST (UK)
Hello !

Where may I obtain info about those British people living and working around the British Factory Chaplancies in Lisboa and Oporto, Portugal during the 18th century ?

I'm looking for clues where the following people are from ...

Elisabeth /Torriano/ Weaver b.1742, babt. 9 Dez 1742 BFC Lisboa

married 23 Jul 1783 BFC Oporto  to

Bartholomew John /Bull/

At the end of that century they must have been wealthy, because at least two of their sons (Bartholomew John /Torriano Bull/ *1784) (Heinrich (Henry) /Torriano Bull/ *1787) went to Hamburg and bought large farms.

Regards,

Sven
